My apologies for bad grammar!
4MRB4PHOTO replied to carolina07's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This website is not a correspondence course in English. The grammar police need to patrol different websites. No excuses or apologies are necessary. Your post was written very well. I took Spanish courses 1 & 2 many years ago in high school*; I would never be able to converse in Spanish the way you can in English. *So far back that some of the U.S. territory was still under Spanish rule. -
A lot of last suppers

The digestion process is not quite over yet, wait until "this too shall pass". -

Stick to the plan and journal your daily food, Water, Protein and exercise quantities so you can see what you are doing correctly and what you need to improve on. Also measure your foods and record Snacks and grazing. -
I fell like im not getting full
4MRB4PHOTO replied to hamoudi's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You will be able to enjoy those same foods again, in moderation. As stated your hormones are a little out of whack during the initial weight loss; it is common feel emotional. Maybe those were tears of joy on how much more handsome you are going to look? -
Hi Patricia. I was sleeved at the age of 50 years. Welcome to the "seasoned" WLS club.

I wish. My stomach needs to have a talk to your stomach.

My CPAP machine has a manual knob to adjust the humidity level, does yours? If it doesn't there should be a setting in the patient menu to adjust that. The patient menu will allow you to adjust for things like altitude, ramp rate, etc., which is what you are allowed to adjust (if necessary); this is not the same as the clinical menu where the pressure is set.

Rubbermaid makes little containers for small quantities like salad dressings. Also an empty prescription bottle or empty aspirin type container could work.

I hope you had a nice anniversary and enjoyed your seafood meal. Regarding eating a bite of steak at two weeks post-op, that was a little early. Follow your post-op plan.

Tired of discussing my weight with people
4MRB4PHOTO replied to 24601's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Some people might be curious about the procedure and many others may use your WLS as a way to create conversations with you. Just let them know that you don't want to discuss it if it bothers you or quickly change the subject. -
Benefits of Sleeve Gastrectomy Wane at 5 Years
4MRB4PHOTO replied to feedyoureye's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thank you for this article. Even though the study was done in a country with cutting edge medical care and techniques, the number of patients are a little small and there are a few variables which could lead to erroneous results. I agree with the doctor's comments that there aren't enough long term studies to fully understand this procedure. I wonder how many of these patients regain the weight due to complacency, exercising less, going back to old habits, not following their post-WLS plans? Also regarding diabetes, etc., I wonder if the years of stressing their endocrinological system due to obesity and just being predestined to developing it due to genetics (although the onslaught of it could have been delayed) was factored in -if it could be. The other thing is I wonder how in a different Westernized society, such as the United States, with our abundance of food, especially cheap unhealthy ones and different socio-economic issues, would the results would be different? -
I thought the post located directly before your right now had a complementary title (it's unrelated, but the sequence of these two post's titles are funny).

I am not sure if you are looking for vindication or medical advice. There would be very few people here with a strong clinical background in medicine, with a specialty in WLS (or surgery in general) to offer you that advice. Good luck.

My Delightful first VSG turned Nightmare @ "resleeve" by Almanza
4MRB4PHOTO replied to Popsicle530's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am sorry you went through all of this. Thank you for sharing your story. Unfortunately there are people out there who work as coordinators for WLS surgeons that pretend to be patients and praise that surgeon and/or fabricate lies about a competing surgeon. Worse than that, they befriend people who didn't have the surgery yet and try to lure them towards the surgeon they coordinate for. I don't doubt what you wrote, although I would recommend you get ready to have people rip you a new one if you make a negative post like this on the Gastric Sleeve Forum about him. -
I thought they were trolls
4MRB4PHOTO replied to csawesome's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is the problem with non face to face verbal communication, the meanings can be misinterpreted since people can not see the visual expressions or hear the way it was it expressed. I have seen in other posts (not referring to this thread) the posts are interpreted spot on and in other cases, even with emoticons, people are way off base and incorrectly respond back like total a$$holes. -

Thanks for the recipe, especially the pickled onions; I think I will make those this weekend. -

Anyone not telling anyone about their surgery?
4MRB4PHOTO replied to taramarie523's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I will have trouble selling that one...Yeah if your a male you prob would... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G530AZ using the BariatricPal App Unless you were Bruce soon to become Caitlyn Jenner. Afterwards it would be a correct statement, but that wouldn't have been WLS. Actually in her case, she looks very good and never would have needed WLS. Never mind. -

Gastric Embolization - The Trendy Fake Treatment For Obesity?
4MRB4PHOTO replied to Proud2BMe's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Long term consequences? If it is approved, what could go wrong, as long as you don't count procedures like silicone breast implants, the transvaginal mesh and drugs like DES, etc.. -
Anyway, like I was sayin', beans is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, beans-kabobs, beans creole, beans gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple beans, lemon beans, coconut beans, pepper beans, beans soup, beans stew, beans salad, beans and potatoes, beans burger, beans sandwich. That- that's about it.

Exactly the point I was trying to make.... Hypothetically speaking, if a fly was to get WLS, would that still hold true? Hahaha! That gave me a great visual of an obese fly that couldn't even manage to lift itself off the ground.
