    What's your favourite...

(Gilbert Gottfried said this during the Comedy Central roast of Roseanne Barr): A drunken farmer stumbled upstairs into his bedroom, where his wife Roseanne is. She sees her husband holding a sheep under his arms. The farmer yells, "This is the pig I've been f******!" Roseanne says, "You idiot, that's not a pig. It's a sheep!" The farmer says, "Shut the f*** up. I was talking to the sheep!" His placing of those asterisks after the letter "f" is hilarious and pure comedic genius!!!

To all you Losers and soon to be Losers out there...

    Happy Canada Day, Eh?
  6. The pre-op diet I didn't mind either, in fact I felt good due to my eating more basic foods (without all of the preservatives and additives) and without all of the simple carbs I normally ate. I wish I could even have just a Protein shake today, I can't eat any food, only Clear Liquids, in preparation for a colonoscopy tomorrow . (No, they will not be looking for my head. )

Is it okay to have a last hoorah?

I just read your post where you were concerned you would be denied the surgery because you were not fully following your pre surgery diet. Why would you even consider eating this a day before your surgery?

What happens when you eat too much?

I never had dumping syndrome, but yes to the discomfort and vomiting -although it isn't, at least for me, a full emptying of the stomach (only some was brought up) when I ate too much. Here is an illustration of what happens when you overeat and have a VSG, that I found in a JAMA publication:

    Move the freakin chips!

It is cheaper to buy the 10oz bags of chips, but can you buy the packages with individual 1oz servings and keep that package out of the kitchen area, preferably in an out of the way location you may not frequent as much? This way he can take the 1 serving size and not leave an opened bag of chips wherever you may store them. As a bonus, for him, he is only eating 1 serving at a time. If you can't just eat a few potato chips, I know my willpower is still not very good for things like only a few chips, maybe make some kale chips for yourself as a treat once in a while.

    No More CPAP?

3 weeks ago I had a take home sleep study performed. I no longer need to wear the CPAP machine since I no longer have sleep apnea due to the weight I lost (Happy dance time). It is not guaranteed that you will no longer have sleep apnea/require the use of a CPAP machine, but there is a good chance you may not as you lose your excess weight. I wouldn't recommend stopping on your own. Have a study performed after you lost most of your excess body weight. Also, just because you may still snore after you lose that excess weight, it doesn't necessarily mean you still have sleep apnea.
  20. The "How much weight did you lose?" question bothers me a little. Not because I feel it is intrusive, but because I am embarrassed of how obese I allowed myself to become. People who have asked I honestly tell them; they have always been very happy for me and supportive. Sometimes a little shocked because they didn't realize I weighed that much.

I want a forum exclusively for albino, dwarf, lesbian, Eskimo women who are vegetarians, are cross-eyed and have a lisp. But alas, I will be excluded from that group, I don't have a lisp.

    People and their big mouths

I was thinking the opposite end of the digestive tract would have been more appropriate for the rude people.
  23. You should have asked them "are you going to have surgery to remove your cranium from your rectum?".
