Tomorrow! July 2 - Who's with me?
WontonAnimalChIndo replied to mclorrie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm with you. My surgery is at 10:30am MST tomorrow. I only had to do a 3 day pre-op clear liquid only diet. Somehow I dropped 10lbs as of this morning. Taking the kiddos to Grandma's after work. Then back home to pack and try and sleep. Good Luck! -
United Healthcare - Just Beginning
WontonAnimalChIndo replied to amy.taylor8414's topic in Insurance & Financing
I have UHC as well. I had my 6 month doctor supervised weight loss, 5 year weight history, and psych eval. I was approved with no problems. -
Its been good. It was definitely worse the first day, but i haven't felt a extreme drop. I think the anticipation and excitement for surgery tomorrow is helping with that.

I'm on day 3 of a 3 day pre-op clear liquid diet. I have barely been able to get over 200 calories in a day. I've been surviving on Isopure Carb zero, broth, SF jello, SF popsicles, crystal light, and Vitamin water Zero. Surprisingly I don't feel that bad.

Approved! Surgery on July 2nd
WontonAnimalChIndo posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Finally got my approval call this morning. I had my paperwork submitted two weeks ago. Had hoped I had all my ducks in a row and happily it turns out I did. Surgery is scheduled for July 2nd. Now I can stop worrying about approval and start worrying about the surgery. -
Approved! Surgery on July 2nd
WontonAnimalChIndo replied to WontonAnimalChIndo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For my insurance it was just going to see my primary doctor every month for six months a follow some sort of plan to lose weight. For my insurance, United healthcare, there was not a required amount of weight to lose. I only lost a few pounds and was still approved. -

What blender do you use?
WontonAnimalChIndo replied to Kaye21's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I have been shopping for a blender. The Vitamix and Blendtec blenders were way too pricey for me. I think I'm gonna go with the Ninja, Costco and Sam's Club have a pretty nice set for about $135-150 -

Substance Abuse After Surgery?
WontonAnimalChIndo replied to OctoberRust127's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I've read that it happens with some people, drugs, alcohol, sex, cigarettes. I think it is called "addiction transfer", since you can't over eat any more you switch to something else. -

Everyone's planned or already had Food Funerals?
WontonAnimalChIndo replied to Beachsprite's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was lucky enough to have a 10 day business trip about a month prior to my upcoming surgery. It was nice to be able to eat out to places I wouldn't normally got to with the wife and kids, and have my employer foot the bill. I haven't really felt like I needed a food funeral after I got back home. -
