Want to get back on track and lose the weight. Any help, advice etc is appreciated. I find that I don't even remember how I was eating when I lost weight. I would like to know how others manage their diet. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

What does "dm" mean? So today I want to focus on the protein. How much do we need seems like I remember it was something like 60? Is that right?? Going to use a food tracker. Is there a fitness pal seems I remember that. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app -

I have regained most of my weight. I need some guidance and support from others. I was doing so good then I forgot I even had a sleeve. Help me remember what I should be doing to lose the weight. I was working so much but I have stopped that and want to focus on me again. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Anyone had BMI of 38 and gotten approved with Federal BCBS? I am waiting to hear from them. I do have Diabetes, obstructive sleep apnea, high cholesterol and osteoarthritis. All these are new this year and decided sleeve could help me be rid of some. Hope to hear from others who have bcbs fed.

I have been stuck at 142.6 for almost 2 weeks now. I need to start exercising but with 2 jobs its hard. I have been cheating everynight with a bowl of layes chips. Now i know they dont bother my sleeve so i can eat them and i do. I think exercise is the key for me at thus time. I will let you all know how that goes. -
Has anyone here had VSG surgery after they have previously had their gallbladders removed?
rln52 replied to Fitgirl2be's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my gallbladder out in 2000 and my sleeve in 2015. Absolutely NO PROBLEMS! ! I have been able to tolerate all foods. I do follow the guidelines and never advanced my diet without my doctor's permission. Omeprazole 1 everyday sprinkled on pudding. This is not for reflux my doctor just gives it for the first year to help sleeve. -
Had the sam problem for first 4 months post op. Now i have a yogurt or Quest protein bar everyday and this keeps me regular. I don't eat fruits and rarely eat vegetables. Mostly i eat chicken.

Happy to report itching is gone. Dont know what it was. Maybe the new water softner or maybe time just took care of that!! -
I was lucky no saggy skin. I've lost 67 lbs. I am 53 and was overweight for about 6 to 7 years. My highest weight was 211 and I am 5'2".

Jay Robb is the best in my opinion. I hated the idea of shakes yukky was all I could say to them. This shake got me through the hard times. -
Surgery on a "smaller" patient
rln52 replied to Lindsey Corbet Love's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 5'2" & weighed 195 day of surgery August 10, 2015. Today I weigh 144lbs. At first weight came off steady then the holidays came around and it slowed down but usually i lost about 3 lbs per week. I am trying for 135lbs and wishing for 125lbs. I haven't done any exercise. Will try to incorporate that and hope it pushes me to lose more. I will say it was about the first week of February that I really noticed i looked thin. I also went down a size. People are now saying slow down - maybe i need to stop losing weight. Lol imagine someone telling me that I could only dream before but it has become a reality. My diabetes is controlled without medicine since after surgery and my AIC has been normal since my 3 month follow up so that alone was a BIG WIN for me. -
Medical Abdominal Binder
rln52 replied to AJKMMC15's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It helped me through the first 3 or 4 weeks. Then one day i was driving it bothered me and I took it off. I saw it the other day. I remember when it was my best friend lol. Just be sure you get the right size for your body. -
I found that sticking to items that were smooth (no chunks) made me mentally feel safer that I wouldn't cause any problems.

By the way my wedding rings fit again. I wear them everyday now. I wish i had gotten this surgery sooner. I am so happy with the outcomes and my life has changed so much for the better. -

Its getting harder now because i know i can eat anything without the fear of not being able to tolerate the food. My hair is still falling out but maybe not as much and i had so much of it that it didn't affect the way it looks - just feels lighter. Having hard time stopping myself to not wear my old 2× 3× clothes. The 1x still feels good but its probably too big. I bought a medium blouse and 12P pant this week and they fit nice. I need to clean out my closet. I am afraid to get rid of it last time i lost weight i gave it all away and then gained it all back. Then today i was thinking i could give it to coworkers and everytime i saw the clothes on them i could remember wow I use to be that size and stay true to my new food choices. -

Have been out for awhile. Happy to hear all are doing well. I am 6 months out now and down to 144lbs. Feeling really good. So much energy. Eating most foods but in small amounts and sticking to my new food choices. I do like layes potato chips thats my weakness. Still want to lose 15 more lbs. -

I eat prunes 2 per day. Yogurt and protein shake seems to help with constipation. I asked my doctor about prunes and he said yeah. Agree this is a pain and probably the worse problem to date. So really not that bad if i plan my attack well. Lol -

Looking great Rdsegobia. That's a pretty blouse. I find myself buying brighter colors now. Love wearing fun clothes. Sometimes it takes me more time than before to pick out what I am going to wear now that there are so many choices. Even wearing jewelry too. I love it! -
I make my own parmesan crisps. I use 1 bag of finely grated parmesan cheese with 1 Tbsp of flour and mix in rosemary or other dried herbs. Put them in less than teaspoon size mounts on a baking sheet with parchment paper and bake at 400 degrees for 7 mins. They are good. I am going to try baking them with out flour just to see what happens.

Elastic waistbands are my friend. I love them the transition between sizes is easier with them. Especially the stretchy fabrics.

I am at size 14 skinny jeans too!! We are awesome! The ladies at work are super excited over my weight loss always commenting on how good i look. They dont know about surgery. I still think that yes surgery definitely helped me alot but it has taken effort and dedication to stay on my diet plan. Because I have eaten a few fritos and 1 cherry cupcake pie so I know I can eat those things without getting sick but I can't eat them all the time. Now I notice how so many women are overweight its more common than being thin. Young and old I guess before I never really noticed. I wish I had done this surgery when I was younger but I guess I wasn't ready until now.
