I TRIED to eat a baked potato today......
Paula Kolarik replied to Texas Gal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tonight I feel pretty much like a complete boob. It has been 5 days since my surgery and been doing quite well in spite of being in much pain still. For some asinine reason I thought it might be ok to try eating 3 small bites of a twice baked potato- super moist with added unsweetened almond milk and low fat shredded cheddar, mashed over & over with my fork. That was about an hour ago and I feel ok in tummy but what was I even thinking??? I could have been violently sick and nauseous thankfully bites were super small but this was a definite NO-NO. I'm admitting this to keep myself accountable and get myself back on track with full liquids. Sorry for this rant but I am very upset with myself right now -
Dr Brandon Williams Vanderbilt
Paula Kolarik replied to JANNCS's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Dr Williams will be my surgeon for the sleeve gastrectomy December 15th. I started this process back on March 31st 2015 and couldn't be happier that I chose him to be my surgeon! I'll keep ya posted after my surgery...I have a feeling that this surgery will help give me my life back! -
BariatricEating.com: Not What You Want To Hear...
Paula Kolarik replied to blashlee's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I have read many Susan Maria Leach articles and belong to her Facebook BariatricEating Support Group I've found that it is pretty much the only site out there that will give you the cold hard facts if you put yourself out there which is great I think! I'd rather be told the truth and given facts rather than have strangers try and comfort me when I've eaten something that's not good for me! You can find many good articles on her website but beware sometimes of the sarcastic sharp tongue if you don't have thick skin! -
? About clearances
Paula Kolarik replied to Sajijoma's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi all! I'll be having surgery right about the time you all are, just waiting to do a urine contine test to make sure there is no nicotine in my system for surgery then wait for the call to schedule my date! I'm so excited, nervous & worried a bit that once I reach my goal weight that I can keep it off for good without having regain etc... I just see SO many people going in for revisions mainly because they went back to their love affair with carbs & started eating again how they used to before they had surgery and I just pray that I can keep strong and stay on track- knowing that if I start back on that slippery slope into bad eating especially after the honeymoon phase is over! For the first year or so, we are going to, without a doubt, lose weight just due to malabsorption, the weight is going to fall off no matter what! BUT afterwards, we're on our own! Long before that happens I'll be back inside the gym doing whatever it takes to keep the weight I do lose OFF for good! -
14Pk Of Syntrax Nectar Samples For $14 (Free Shipping)
Paula Kolarik replied to BenisaMartim4's topic in Food and Nutrition
I just placed an order at 866-333-7403 and got the 15pk for $15 and $1.99 s/h also Christine I am super excited to finally try other flavors & another brand because I've been buying Inspire brand from Bariatric Eating for over $32 and only 20 servings in a ziplock bag. So, I go thru about 3 bags a month ughhh! Pricey! I haven't tried many of the other brands except long ago I used Designer whey but that was nearly 15 years ago! Things in the Protein world have changed especially now since I've decided to have Roux En-Y next month the surgeon insists I only have whey protein isolate NOT whey protein concentrate since it doesn't absorb well!! I want to find where to talk about the supplements we need to be getting also! Have a great day everyone! -

Did anybody use this for surgery payment eFinancing Solutions LLC
Paula Kolarik replied to Athinnerme's topic in Insurance & Financing
I know some time has passed since you originally wrote this but did you go through this company? Or has anyone here gone thru this company for financing? -
Wow! You really look amazing & I'm so happy for you! I love the fact you're in the same dress just way smaller size for this photo comparison! You are really an inspiration for me! My surgeon said it was up to me as to which surgery I wanted to have done and since last month I have been on the fence as to whether I should have the sleeve done or have rny done but seeing your results as well as researching my butt off all about both surgeries (especially the malabsorption issue with rny) has me totally OFF the fence now... finally...I'm definitely getting the sleeve done Please keep us in the loop with your great progress!! xo

Duodenal Switch (DS): When It's Time to Consider Bariatric Plan B
Paula Kolarik replied to Dr. Adeyeri's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
This sounds like a really great surgery although I was not offered it when I met with the surgeon a few weeks ago. I'll ask again when I see him in June! -
Finally told someone & OMG, smh! :(
Paula Kolarik replied to SeahawksGirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am kinda in the same boat as you. The only person that knows is my mother and even she isn't very supportive. I know it's because they are uneducated and don't want anything "bad" to happen to us. What they're not looking at is the whole picture, of how unhealthy we've become. I think if you respond and educate her, you'll feel like she is in your corner!
