Hi! Everything went well! The first couple days were rough! I'd say after a week I was feeling somewhat better. It'll be hard to get your fluids in at first but it seems to get easier! Dr. Cook is super nice! Iiked her a lot too. She came to the hospital room and checked on me one day. I think they work as a team on some things. I had to get IV fluids once. But I've been ok since! I noticed that the protein I had been drinking the whole time in the pre-op phase was nauseating after surgery. I strongly suggest getting unjury chicken broth (21 g of protein) because the warm broth went down easier!
  2. So I'm exactly 8 days out. Yesterday was great. I finally got all my Protein in and fluids! Major achievement for me! But today it was different. Today, I've been experiencing soreness all over my abdomen for the first time. Not just at the incision sites. I've also noticed a bruise on the left side under my breast (near the stomach) ... The nurse practitioner said it was probably just old and appearing there... But I'm nervous if the two are related? Did anyone else experience something similar? I also have diarrhea but mostly it was yesterday and only once today. Any help would be appreciated!
  3. I wonder if we can use Vegenaise too... ?

    Any April Sleevers?

Hello! I'm 7 days out from surgery.... It's been rough! Today is the first day I can get all my liquids and proteins in. I had to get an extra bag of fluids the other day .... But that was the only setback so far. Yay! Hopefully, things will continue to get easier for me! How is everyone else doing?

    My journey

I had a similar situation... I had lost 65lbs by working out and light dieting.. I was going to the gym 6 days a week. I moved and started a new job and gained it all back and then some... I was at my heaviest last summer at 285 lbs. I was then diagnosed as diabetic and I made the decision right then and there that I was going to make a change. Its been a long process- but my surgery is in just a little over a week! I'm on the pre-op liquid diet and its hard...but I need to do this for myself! We will do great! GOOD LUCK!
