Hi there! I am new to BariatricPal but not new to being overweight. Actually I was "normal" weight, maybe about 10 lb over, all my life, no problems staying there until...MENOPAUSE. Then I gained 20 lb in a MONTHs time, again and again till I am now 75 lb overweight. That plus my sedentary lifestyle due to the Fibromyalgia I have had since 2000, keeps me in bed a lot, plus meds that make me gain weight...
..
Hopefully, with the Gastric Sleeve surgery I will not only take the weight off, but keep it off , obviating the need for these many meds! I wont have (hopefully) Diabetes, Fatty Liver, Sleep Apnea etc etc etc anymore and thus, have lost the need for so many meds that cause stomach problems too.

Nevertheless when I feel well and am not flaring from the FM, I am outgoing, fashion forward and a gray haired young 60 years of age (well 61 this May Day!) grandma of a sweet 3 year old from my step or other daughter , my own is in an "open" relationship whatever that means, but it equals no grandchildren now anyway

I am waiting for my 2nd appt with the Surgeon and news on when I will be approved, having gone thru all the hoops of referrals and so on. .Still waiting therefore for a date on surgery... and waiting and waiting....

UPDATE @ 6/12/2015
