Awesome! Hopefully you are doing well -
I was told no nicotine at all. It's the hardest thing to quit. I'm only 2 weeks non smoker and still a big hurdle a few days at a time, but I keep myself smoke free. My paperwork said 8 weeks pre surgery I had to quit. Probably ask your Dr. You can do this????

Just recently quit smokung

It is very, very hard not smoking. I keep telling myself it's more than worth it to have this surgery tho. Cause I want this so very badly! No pain, no gain. But I am taking Chantix too. Not using an e CIG. Too afraid in my case I would fall back too easily if I did. -
Having my endoscopy in the morning. Last of tests I need. I still have until August to finish my nutritional visits tho. Exercise demo next Thursday too

I agree AvalonNeeCee! I gained 2 lbs on last months visit and you'd have thought it was 20. But at least don't have to lose a certain amt like some insurances ask. Thank goodness. Just complying with the 6 nutritional visits is crazy enough I believe.

Have a lovely trip, you deserve it after your big accomplishment. My hubby and I plan on a Cancun Mexico trip after a substantial loss as a celebration

Kealot wonderful progress for you also! You all are great inspirations -
Do you need a 40 bmi or something? Otherwise it shouldn't matter unless you are gaining each month. I wish you luck on your journey!_

perk4756 replied to perk4756's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Past two days have been difficult for me wanting to smoke. I'm only 9 days smoke free. This is very very hard not to do. Especially being already tense from wanting this surgery over already. Longest time of my life I believe! -
Thoughts on your young children visiting you in the hospital
perk4756 replied to NCTRNL's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think it's a bit much to have small children come visit. It's one night as someone else said. I have small grandchildren I dearly love. But I wouldn't appreciate if in a room with someone bringing them in. Not a place for little ones. Plus hospitals breed infections. -
I was on diet pills thru my PCP last year. Will that help me get by the 6 month supervised diet plan? Forgot to mention to my nutritionist.

I'm doing good not smoking actually. I just keep telling myself, eyes in the prize. Lol. And been making the smokers in my life keep them away from me while smoking too. I've seen where second hand smoke showed up on a couple people. -

Anyone getting sleeved in July or August? Looking for buddies!
perk4756 replied to abbyfran7's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had gained 2 at my last appointment and started drinking a protein drink for breakfast. Only 1 pop a day versus a 2 liter. And 8 bottles of water versus none before. I've lost 8 pounds -
I have had 5 back surgeries and have gained my weight along this awful road. Tried diet after diet, miracle weight loss pills. Etc. Lol. But this is going to very much help my back, feet, legs. I'm 5'3" and 219 lbs. My goal weight is 130. Just a little more than my weight per back surgeries. Gonna do exercise, already started. My surgery is in August. Happy, happy, happy to get there finally. ☺

Newbie - How do I choose?
perk4756 replied to Shakti's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Shakti, just an opinion. I know someone who had lap band and seen many posts about this same. Alit if times they slip and have to be redone. So I would not have the band. -
Newb here. Starting the process. Appt is June 15th
perk4756 replied to Damarie's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Welcome! I am having the sleeve in August myself. I am so very excited. I've already changed my eating habits. And giving up the coca cola too. Drinking tons of water, which I drank zero before. Already started drinking a protein drunk for breakfast too, where before just ate nothing. I'm gonna rock this if it kills me. Lol -
I am obsessed with having this too. All I think about constantly. The wait is stressful itself. Then I guess they don't submit for final approval until everything is completed. I'm having m9ne in August. Would love to have a date to shoot for though. But time is passing a little faster than I imagined and I've learned so much on this sight. Hardest biggie for me getting ready for surgery was quitting smoking. Glad I did, but extremely hard
