    Nausea and fatigue

I am 3 months post up. After I eat I get really nauceous and extremely tired. Like I have to go right to sleep within minutes of finishing a meal. This happens occasionally but often enough that I'm becoming concerned. Has anyone experienced this?

    Loneliness

I'm 4 weeks post op today. I've never felt more alone. I'm having regrets. It took me over two years to make my decision to revision from the band to the sleeve. Reasons that I feared would happen with relationships, friendships, things that I enjoy doing started very early on in my two month post op phase and continue. I know that I should be patient. I know things will get easier with time, but when the scale is not moving and I can't even get a friend to say "hey, how's it going? Wanna do something not revolving around food or alcohol?" It's just very discouraging. I'm also struggling to do things that I enjoy alone. Reading, drawing, going for walks. Nothing interests me...

    Loneliness

Thanks everyone for your positive comments. It's good to share so others know they aren't alone and these feelings are somewhat a natural part of this process. I live a life surrounded by fantastic chefs and bartenders who make some of the best craft cocktails and food in the Northeast and I love this life. It's a part of who I am. My struggle will be finding how I make it work for me. I believe that I will find the balance. Like I said, your brain takes you to some dark places when you are forced to confront things; issues I thought I'd long resolved.

@@Andrea72 It appears as though we have a similar story. That in and of itself is comforting. [emoji4] I know it will get better, it just sucks working through it.

    Loneliness

If only getting a pet was an option. I do show up to things but I think people feel awkward around me because I'm not drinking or eating the same kind of things. Actually, I know they do even when I've reassured them that I'm totally cool with it. I do plan on seeing a therapist in the near future. From past experience, finding a good fit can take a few tries.
  8. I am 3 weeks post-op. I smoked weed from a vape pen 4 days post-op once home from the hospital and stayed away from the pain meds. It relaxed me, controlled my pain a bit, and did not give me munchies, although weed has never had that effect on me. I also had a vodka on the rocks with a tiny splash of cran 2 days ago. It didn't even give me a buzz. Although I am not making a habit of drinking this early in the game, nor do I intend to, I really don't think my tolerance has changed. Prior to surgery I drank quite a bit. Having had a failed lapband prior to the sleeve, I know that in order to be successful with this, you have to change your lifestyle. But it should be what works for YOU and what is best for YOU. The doctors and nutritionists will give you guidelines but ultimately your choices will define your success. I will never stop enjoying a drink, especially working in a brewery. I'm passionate about food, beer, and craft cocktails and that will never stop. I do know that for my personal success, I need to find a balance and keep focused on my goals of why I had surgery in the first place. The magic formula for success is the one that works for you my friend. Just take decisions as they come and keep your eyes on the prize. Good luck!

Mine was on 4/15/16. I'm in Mass. :-)
  11. I'm one week away from converting from band to sleeve. Is it ok to smoke a little bit of weed using a vaporizer 5 days before? Based on the other threads I've read I must state the following: *Do not judge. *I don't get the munchies. *If you've never smoked weed, please don't comment.

    Vaporizing Marijuana

Update: No complications whatsoever. Pre-op or post-op. Fully disclosed that I smoked to the medical staff by way of a vape pen as well as the quantity that I smoked which was 2-3 puffs. I have a dry herb vaporizer pen and a wax pen. Was not an issue. If you are smoking from a vaporizer pen enough to make you cough, then you are smoking too much at once. At least in my experience.
  13. Revision from band to sleeve on 4/15/16 and have a vacation to Florida scheduled for 6/17/16. Will I be ok for swimming and enjoying all that one does on a vacation at a beach resort?

I was hoping that people who had smoked would chime in and share their experience. Thanks to those of you who have responded.

    Vaporizing Marijuana

I did tell him that I do. And I use a vaporizer only when I smoke now for the last year. I smoke a few times a week to calm my nerves. I stopped two weeks ago in preparation for my surgery. When I had my lapband (twice) I smoked up until the day before. That was years ago though and I wasn't using a vaporizer.

what's the longest with the band

@@JustWatchMe All of the healthy foods I want to eat like grilled fish and steamed broccoli for example are impossible with the lap band. This is not right. For the last few years I've been bringing food back up daily and I've basically been eating lots of smoothies at this point or unhealthy options that don't cause me any trouble. It's been getting worse. I feel that the band is causing more damage mentally and physically than it is helping me at this point. This anxiety is no way to live.

what's the longest with the band

I first got my Lap Band in October 2004. I had the band replaced in October of 2009 (I think) I am now looking into getting it removed after a little over 10 years.
