    6 months out and pregnant

I was banded on Jan 23, 2008 at Eglin Hosp. Three days after my husband left for a four month deployment. I have lost nearly 45lbs with 65 to go. The hubby is now home and happy to be here. Then on the 15th I found out that I am pregnant. I can't help but be nervous. I original surgeon has left and I now have another surgeon who is caring for me but I'm concerned. He wants to take all of the fluid out my band. I have read that it isn't necessary to remove all of the fluid. But he is bent on removing all of my fluid. I just don't know what to do. I am really not comfortable with this new surgeon or his nurse. I want other options. Anybody got any advice
  2. I found out two weeks ago that I am pregnant. All of a sudden it's like there is no restriction. I feel like I am constantly eating. What happened? I haven't had an unfill yet. My appt. is next Monday but I am tempted to cancel it and just keep the fluid until I feel I need to remove it. I am just amazed that almost over night I can go from having great restriction to feeling like there's no restriction at all.

    Pregnancy & Lap Band

I was banded on Jan 23 and I am now 6wks pregnant. I lost 45lbs before getting pregnant. I have been trying to do as much research as I can about the LapBand and pregnancy. I have only had 2 fills and I am hoping that I will be able to keep the fluid in my band and still have a healthy pregnancy.

    Tricare Prime Remote

My husband is in the Air Force and I had lost all hope in having Lap Band done. Then I went to my initial consultation. The base apparently has a great bariatric surgeon. We discussed my reasons considering WLS. Thats when he Hit me with " You have three choices Gastric Sleeve, Gastric Bypass, OR Lap Band." He then began to explain that they were getting ready to learn how to do the procedure and that the first few they would be flying in another surgeon to assist. All I could think of was "MY PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED" As few days later it hit me. No had discussed Tricare coverage. I called the surgery clinic and asked about Tricare's restrictions and how it affected me and my choice of surgery. I was told that since I was having the procedure done by a surgeon at the MTF tricare has no involvement. So Here i go JAnuary 23 is m surgery date. I just keep hoping this isn't going to come back on me in the form of a bill.

    Military Tri-Care insurance

From what I have been told if the MTF offers the surgery then Tricare has nothing to do with it. It's only when you have to see a surgeon outside of the MTF that tricare gets involved and says "NO". I am being banded January 23rd,08 at Eglin Hospital. They are going to be doing the first few Lapbands on this base begining in January.
