  1. Don't really have a dog in this fight but since I really hate lack of reading comprehension and juvenile dog-piling, notice the bold and underlined, as well as italicized part of the sentence: "name even 2 surgeons that have performed at least 2000 surgeries and have been performing surgeries for at least 4 years that are free of deaths and complications." Yeah, so name 1 surgeon that meets that criteria. Or continue with the stupid attacks, w/e floats your boat.
  2. Looks like there's more ignorant people smearing mexican surgeons. Can people just not post if they don't know what they're talking about?
  3. I was thinking about driving back (to Oklahoma) after my surgery because of this lol

    Long Term VSG Sleevers?

Hey, I read where LTVSG gives you a video of your surgery. Does anyone who has had the surgery with them want to upload it to youtube?
  5. Edavidson, none of my posts have been directed at you or what you've posted. I never thought you were overly criticizing of Mexico in your posts, even when, out of everyone here, you'd have more of a right to be. Anyway, hope you have a great day!
  6. I truly believe people that overly attack something, such as having surgery in Mexico, must do it because they feel like they have to defend WHY they had surgery in the USA. That they're somehow better for it. Otherwise, why be so damn argumentative and loose with the facts? I'd stand hospital Angeles up against just about any US hospital. And let's be real here. There aren't too many people having bariatric surgery done in the USA at hospitals such as the Mayo Clinic, John Hopkins, or Cedar-Sinai. Stop acting like your local/regional hospital (that 99% of surgeries are done at in the US) is the creme de la creme.

    Long Term VSG Sleevers?

Tijuana isn't the State of Jalisco of today, or the city of Juarez of yesterday. I would treat it like going to any city of comparable size in America.
  8. There's a study that lists different things that make mortality and complications higher/lower for bariatric surgery. For example, the single event that increases these things the most is if the choice of surgery is the DS. Another is how many procedures the doctor has performed for that specific surgery (I forget if the cutoff is 30 or 100). While other things that effect mortality and complications are bmi, comorbidities, age, and on and on. I can't find the study at this moment. But if I was looking into wls in Mexico, I'd look for that article and find out if I had any greatly increased risks for the surgery to go bad, and if so, I'd buy Medical Tourism insurance and vacation in a hotel for a couple weeks after the surgery. No ER in the US is going to turn you down in a medical emergency. Now, paying for it is another story.
  9. What's telling is that there's something like 5x the amount of weight loss surgeries in the USA than Mexico, but you never hear about specific deaths in the USA. I'm sure it has to do with privacy laws as well as people being held for libel in the US compared to mexico.
  10. God. Looks like rocky is back. A rose by any other name.
  11. In one of the emails I was sent it says that you guys do in house financing which requires half down, with a valid driver's license and a credit card. Do you guys have that up and running?
  12. One of the biggest reasons to get the sleeve instead of a bypass is the ability to take NSAIDs the rest of your life. An ulcer is one thing; tons of people get them that don't get wls and they suck either way. But a marginal ulcer or an ulcer in the part of the stomach that can't be scoped is why you can't take them with bypass. If this is the information dr.s are giving their patients...

    Mini gastric bypass anyone?

I also read a report (can't find it right now, like weegie I'm suffering information overload) that what makes bile reflux the most dangerous is when symptoms don't present themselves. I don't remember if it had to do specifically with MGB or not, but either way. If you have bile backing up for years without knowing it, your chances for esophageal cancer goes up dramatically. I don't know if this extra "stitch" procedure actually prevents bile from backing up, or maybe it covers the symptoms. If anyone finds any info on this please post it in this thread.

It's more than likely the Caballero/Carbajo "stitch" seen in this article: http://www.nutricionhospitalaria.com/pdf/3512.pdf
