Facial hair after surgery -go away?

No, I'm not using Biotin. It's probably due to my thyroid or low testosterone the doc thinks. I just hope it improves. -
2 Days Post Open Severe Nausea
FlabbyNat replied to ssourgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for the well wishes! The doctors told me the same thing about the stone in the kidney doesn't cause pain, and it sure DID! I had pain and nausea for days with it only in my kidney. It did finally stop hurting etc for a few months, and then bam it happened again, but this time it was moving to come out. (This happened to me several times too, so I know it can still cause pain in the kidney) Hopefully those Fluid will push it and she gets relief. -

I am using Dr Hollis and to be honest I haven't even spoke to him one on one yet, and my surgery is on Thursday. All my appts were through the PA, Beth. I did a group pre-op session where he came in for 3 minutes and left. I'm not entirely happy with that but still going through with it. I also can't get them to tell me a price yet. Very aggravating! -

My surgery is Thursday and I've been tempted MANY times but stayed strong and overcame it. I kept reminding myself how much time and efforts I put into this and I'm almost there, so no need to mess it up now. I like to drink beer with friends, and that was my main temptation but I didn't do it and am so proud of myself because it was hard watching others, while I sat out. Hang in there! You can do it!!

Houston TX Area Surgeons & Costs
FlabbyNat replied to pushforth's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I am currently trying to find out the projected out of pocket cost for my surgery next week, but am having problems getting the correct price! My doctor is Dr. Kenneth Hollis at Bay Choice Bariatrics at Southeast Memorial Hospital in Houston. He did my friend's surgery, and she was very happy with him, so I am using him. I have Cigna. Send me a message in about a week or so, and I should have the correct figures for you. Or if I find out soon, I'll post back here. -
How long before approval and surgery date?
FlabbyNat replied to Shilatte's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Cigna GW Healthcare: I completed all my ins. requirements in a total of 5 months, 3 months (89 days between) of dietician/nutritionist classes, all my tests or labs (EGD, sleep Study results, Weight loss, Blood work & Psychologist appt) After 4 months, the insurance only took about 5 days to deny my claim due to they required 89 days between my dietician classes, so I had to go to one more which only delayed it more, then she made me lose another 10 lbs on a shake only diet. Grrr My doctor submitted my insurance claim again immediately, and I heard back within the week that I was approved. My doctor called the following week with the surgery date. Only waiting 3 wks. SURGERY IS NEXT WEEK!!! Yahoo!!! Can't wait! Good luck with your journey! -
Would like some advice about what to tell work
FlabbyNat replied to Vikingsfan8178's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow!! I had this same question! My end result was telling them that I was taking medical leave for surgery and recovery. No questions were asked yet. (This was 2 weeks ago nearly) I have had such negative comments before from friends, that I decided it was best to just not make it too public. People that don't know me well, don't know my history with illnesses, or the pain I have in my back or knees, so they don't understand. I will tell the ones I feel most comfortable with, and if the word gets out, who cares! It's my body, my future! I am going to be happy!!!! I'm usually quite honest and open about issues like this, so it will be suspicious if I don't tell them if they ask. -
Liquid diet suggestions
FlabbyNat replied to amacox's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been 1 week into my pre-op diet. Surgery is next week 4/23. I have tried several different shakes, and Premier vanilla, chocolate, & strawberry Creme are awesome so far, but not buying too many yet. sugar free popsicles & Jello have been my savior! My issue is not staying full. I can't find a chicken broth that taste any good. I really want the chicken broth they serve in the hospital, and can't find it. -

*Newbie* Surgery finally scheduled for April 23 in Houston!
FlabbyNat posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hello All, I am new here, and have been going through the process for 5 months, and finally got my surgery scheduled last week. (April 23) I go to Pre-op on Thursday 4/9, and start my pre-op diet, although I have already kinda started to get me prepared. I have several friends and a family member who recently had the same surgery, and have had great results, so I am very excited!!! So anxious!!! I have struggled with how to tell my co-workers what kind of surgery I am having, and some friends and family members haven't been very supportive. I am just leaning on the ones who are VERY supportive and know the struggle I have had with all my meds, illnesses, and being obese. I'm 100% ready!!!!! Thanks, ~Natalie
