About Me
I underwent a VSG in Orlando, FL on 1/15/16. I was 23 years old and had been obese for as long as I could remember. I attended my first Weight Watchers meeting at age 8; I weighed 132 lbs. The highest weight I can remember being came when I was about 17. I stepped on the scale and saw 280. Then I jumped off. I stopped weighing myself for a long time after that.
On the day of my first VSG information session, I weighed 265 lbs. On the day of my surgery, I weighed in at 258.
Now, a little more than two years later, I'm holding steady at around 160. My health is better than its ever been, and my outlook on life is so much more positive. I'm active and social and energetic for the first time in my life (I run now!) and I'm spending way too much money on clothes.
The Latest: At the age of 25, I've never been able to see my body as being 'thin.' And while I'm happy with my results in my clothes, without them... I still feel like I'm 280 lbs. My skin hasn't been as kind to me as I would've hoped, so I'm on the hunt for plastic surgeons. Which -- in NYC -- is no inexpensive feat.
