I'm at 268

The Y near is me is more expensive than my former gym. Plus my gym is 24 hours. However I did find a community center near me that is rather affordable!! They offer water aerobics and circuit training! So I'm either going to join them or go back to 24 hours Fitness. Thanks for your suggestion!

I'm in my third week post surgery and have been so excited about purees! Nothing exciting but it feel great to not be restricted to liquids. So YAAAAAAAAY to that. I have my 2 week post Op follow-up today and I'm hoping that all goes well! I've been a rollercoaster of emotions after my sleeve, but am happy to have been on an upslope (for the most part) for the last 4 days or so. I'm finding that the more I keep busy, the less I focus on food and less depressed I am. I bought a Jawbone to track my steps and measure my sleep quality at night. I have been walking. I also bought a bike and relearned how to ride it! (I hadn't ridden a non-stationary bike since I was 16! LOL) I'm just thinking of different/creative ways to become more active and create less excuses for not exercising. Randomly, I'm even going rollerskating on this Friday night. I haven't skated in forever and know I'm going to break something for sure! LOL. I've considered rejoining my gym but am hoping to find a less expensive way to get active and lose weight. Any suggestions? What are you guys doing to keep active?

I have never done Water aerobics before and always wanted to. I'e heard great tings about it. My former gym had it but it was during a time when I was still at work, so I would always miss it. If I could find class in my budget and at a time when I'm actually able to attend, I'll check it out. Thank for the suggestion.

Funny thing is, running for fitness was my goal in 2013 via Couch to 5K but I never quite made that happen. Hmmm, I think it might be time to give it a shot again! Thanks for your suggestion/ reminding me of an old goal. I've always wanted to run.

Staples, glue or stitches?
BackSpin81 replied to TWJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was glued and had tape on them. I was told to let the tape fall off on their own. My belly was soooooooo itchy for days after surgery! Lol. -

What was the first food you ate when allowed solids
BackSpin81 replied to Lifeafter40's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I start purees tomorrow as well and go back to work. I have stocked up on baby food (no judgement!! It's easier and convenient, and on SALE!), pudding, Greek yogurt, and apple sauce. -
I don't know, but I just started crying! I'm worried that I won't lose any weight. I'm worried that I'm not drinking enough Water, or drinking enough food. I'm worried that I'm going to fail. I just had surgery on 3/30/15 and I keep feeling as if it's not going to work for me. Why? I don't know. I just feel like I'm going to be unhealthy for the rest of my life. I don't know why I'm crying. I'm just really down.

Scared I'm not going to lose weight....2 weeks post op
BackSpin81 replied to Goldy6575's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel the same way!! I worry that I shelled out $12,200 (with $4000 from my parent?) and may not lose a significant amount, or look differently at all. I had a melt down earlier this week, I'm calmer now but am not completely over it. After receiving some sound advice and positive support from other posters I feel a bit more confident. So I think we all need to hang in there and just be patient. *I feel like such a hypocrite after breaking down over the exact same thing (plus other things) just a few days ago. Smh. We'll get through it. -

I'm going to my first support group next Thursday and I will definitely bring up the mood thing to the group and the staff at my doc's office. I truly was not expecting to cry as much as I did and have so far. I've never been the most emotional person in the world but when all of that doubt, stress, worry, lack of support hit you all at one time it sucks. It just came out of nowhere -

Hey all! I was sleeved on 3/30/15. Pre-surgery I weighed in at 288, home scale this morning said 279. No nausea, minor cramping, the BLUES in excess, itchy sutures, but that's about it. I'm finally tracking my water and protein via MyFitnessPal. I just bought a "Jawbone UP" to help me kick my fitness up a notch. So I'm getting it together! -

Thank you all!! So much. I had stopped crying, then laughed and cried when I read your comments. A friend/co-worker came over to visit me so I had to straighten up and not show her my tears. And my dad called as well. So your feedback, my friend, and my father have kept my emotions at bay! THANK YOU!! This goes to show that I need all the support I can get when I feel down like this. Unfortunately, I don't have a constant local support system here. I'm from Boston but live alone in Colorado. My family and friends are so far away. I have a few friends here, but we're not that close (emotionally) for me to cry on their shoulders. And they have no idea that I have had the sleeve surgery. I definitely need a support network :-(. Just talking (crying and typing) it out to you and reading your responses made me feel good and that these feelings are not abnormal. I WILL be reaching out to you when I need help! I appreciate you all -
HOW LONG OFF OF WORK?
BackSpin81 replied to heartonmysleeve82's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery on 3/30/15 and will not return to work until next Monday. FMLA has me covered until 4/13/15. I was required to use 2 PTO days for FMLA to apply. Short term disability will pay me up until 4/15. -
Hello! My gastric sleeve surgery was on Monday, 3/30/15. And I'm feeling OK. I spent one night in the hospital and was able to come back home the next day. My mom flew in (from Boston) to Colorado to spend the week with me. I cried so hard dropping her off at the airport last night ????. She was so helpful for me. She kept me calm, prayed for me, did my laundry and cleaned my bedroom for my return home. Lol. It was so sweet of her and I truly appreciated her for doing it. I was so cranky and sore post surgery. I don't know what I would have done without her. So now I'm back on my own, journaling my "food" and Water intake. I definitely must step up my exercise. I'll be back to work next week.
