Hello all! Just starting to research weight loss surgery. I considered it in 2006 when my doctor gave me a pretty ugly prognosis at 29 years old... lose weight or you will get diabetes, heart disease, and then die. Probably overkill at the time. Anyway, I did a medically supervised program using meal replacements and lost about 60 lbs, leaving me at my adult low of 200 lbs. I kept that off for four years. Did a few triathlons. Started running 5ks and even did a ten miler. Life got complicated.... I started yo yo-ing again. In 2010, I gained 60 lbs in 3 months... and additional 15 comes and goes.
Argh. So here I am. Considering weight loss surgery, again.
And I have mixed feelings. Maybe I need a permanent solution? But is anything really permanent? Is a surgical solution cheating? After all, I know what I have to do.... I just have a problem putting it into practice.
