  1. We have all had similar struggles! It really comes down to mind over matter- which can seem impossible some days. Please read this book- it made all the difference for me. Helped me lose my regain and am now at my lowest! Never Binge Again by Glenn Livingston Phd. Go back to the basics once you read this book- it should help you stay on track once and for all!!

Severe Pain in Abdomen, Ribs, and Thoracic

Sorry to hear you are having such a terrible time of it. Sounds like something similar to reflex sympathetic dystrophy. It usually happens in limbs- arms, legs after an injury or a surgery. Maybe it can occur in other parts of the body. If this block doesn't help- maybe ask if a nerve stimulator could provide some relief. They are implantable- can have a trial implant to see if it would work.
  3. Just checking in. Hope all of you are doing well. I had my sleeve in August 2015. I've lost 98 pounds. I swim 1000 yards 3 days a week and am now testing as physically fit for my age and being a female. I could not have imagined the positive changes in my life 2 years ago. To all who are preop- it is worth every appointment, struggle and sacrifice. To those newly postop- try not to focus on the scale. I had long stalls. During those stalls I lost a lot of inches. I recently found one of my old bras- I've lost 10 inches in band size!! To those who are farther out like me- it is a life unimaginable though starting to get more comfortable as a "thin" person. Stay connected to a support group of some sort- it helps keep you on track! I included my picture from the day I checked into the Bariatric clinic HW 241, other photo is from 1 year postop. CW 142 Happy spring and have a blessed Easter!!

    Surgery at 56?

Had my sleeve at 55- best decision ever. I'm almost 2 years out. I test as physically fit for my age and being a female. I went from a morbidly obese couch potato to fit and active!

Over a year, didn't reach goal, gained weight

It's so easy to get off track- I gained 14# over Christmas. I ate what I wanted and didn't exercise. I went back to the basics - protein shakes and low carb dinner with protein bar or cheese stick for a snack. I also started at a new health club that has a pool. I'm swimming laps which I really enjoy. I have been very diligent and have lost all but one of those 14#. I made up my mind that I wasn't going to let this get out of hand!! You can do it!! Get back to the basics and find a form of exercise you enjoy!

    Gaining weight

Try going back to protein shake for breakfast and lunch. Have low carb high protein dinner. Protein shake at bedtime. I did this to lose the 14# I gained over Christmas.

    NEWBIE NEEDING A POSITIVE NOTE

Dear Newbie- I am 20 months post sleeve. I have gone from a morbidly obese couch potato to a physically fit active woman with a BMI of 25.5. i haven't had a single complication and my only regret is that I didn't do this sooner. You will hear horror stories as you will with any surgery. The vast majority of us cruise on through without a problem as long as you comply with your surgeons recommendations! Best of luck to you- you can do this!!
  8. To proudmomof2- unfortunately the nestle hot coco mix has dairy in it
  9. 46# lost since surgery 8/25/15. 80# lost once March 2015. 44 # til goal!!
  10. I have nestles far free hot chocolate a couple times a week with redi whip on top. It's very low carb and a nice treat on chilly nights! I also keep sugar free Popsicles on hand for when I want something at night
  11. I was sleeved August 25th. I've lost 43#. 78 since January 2015 HW of 245. 47 more to go. I really try to keep my protein intake 70-120 grams and 40-60 grams of carbs. I average about 1000 calories per day. I've had several stalls. I usually lose inches during the stalls. I'm happy with my progress.
  12. Hi all! I was sleeved on 8/25. I've lost 33# post op. I've had several stalls. I have found that I do much better when my protein is around 100 grams. I have a shake most mornings and triple zero yogurt at night. I have cheese and almonds for my snack. My protein during the day is usually chili, chicken, salami. I bumped up my cardio which has helped. I lost 3.4 # this past week. I'm 5'2 and have 57# more to lose. My goal is to have it off at the 9-12 month mark. I lost 30 preop so I'm thrilled with my results- I have a shape now! Not just a big blob!! Lol!
  13. Sleeved August 25th. Down 25# and 3 pants sizes. Loosing more inches than pounds right now!
