This just started. I eat and all is well, then boom I feel horrible. I have no energy, I just want to go to sleep. Walking or standing is work. I'm so scared I'm going to collapse. It last for about 20 minutes and then it passes. I feel fine. Is anyone else experiencing this?

A little over a year out and as a hair stylist losing my hair has been a disaster. I can say it has improved! My hair is growing back in and I am in an awkward hair phase. I chopped it off to my chin and then again when I was at my thinnest, now it just at my ears. It is coming back fuller, shiny and healthier. It gets better!!

Go back and try again. You can do it!

I can tell you from experience it gets so much better. I eat and it isn't like before. I love veggies!! In the early stages I would roast them in the oven and use spices to change up flavors. It was a bit annoying that my food got cold, but it does get better. When the results start showing you find what food you eat(as long as you are meeting you protein requirements and liquid intake) doesn't matter. It's going to be okay and in a year you will thank yourself and wished you had done it sooner. Hang in there!!

No all steroids are on my list of meds I shouldn't take. I did get a Shot a couple of weeks ago. These allergies are killing me. I'm on Houstin and a rain storm cannot come soon enough! I had no idea one human could produce this much mucus.

So I could eat all the time. Yep I'm up at 2:30 am eating (drinking half a protein shake). Every 3-4 hours I'm eating, the hunger is unbearable. I'm still losing just eating and drinking like it's going out of style. I'm watching my diet very closely, often opting for carrots with a piece of cheese or a bowl of salad with some tuna. I'm close to 10 months out and this is by far the most concerning event I have been through. My intake hasn't increased just my frequency in hunger. Knock on wood I'm not craving a little Debbie snack cake, just hungry.

I have been feeling better. I guess I should have said I gave germ fighting sinus infections for over a month. They have me on my third round of antibiotics, 3 nose sprays and antihistamine. I can go several days only eating a few nibbles each meal. Then I start feeling better and I notice my hunger is high. I'm drinking so much water right now, that was the first thing the dr told me. I spoke with the surgeons office yesterday and they said once I was finally feeling better I would get back to normal. Just because I was hungry it was not an excuse to eat poorly. I am feeling better.

I love popcorn! I can eat a whole lot and that scares me!

Just wondering. I left a message with the dr today still waiting to hear back. I have been having these lightheaded spells. A few times I have had to sit down in fear I was going to hit the floor. At first I thought it was what I was or wasn't eating, but now it happening more frequently. My diet has been very consistent often repeating the same meals. I did try ramping up the calories a bit thinking that may be the problem. Upped the water intake to 90 oz a day (a lot of chugging going on there). I'm 7 months out and several different places suggest dumping, but again still taking in very little sugar, no gluten, limited carbs (usually only in veggies and fruit) nothing greasy or very fatty. My focus has been protein and calories. Any insight would be great.

So finally after logging my food and blood work they found nothing. I feel better though. Not sure what was going on. My vit d level was slightly down. she said normal was 30 and mine was like 27. So they amped up my supplements a bit but honestly I was feeling better before they did that. My surgeon suggested that it could have been a virus and that was how my body fought it off. It went on for a few weeks and then it was like someone flipped a switch and I was normal again. My weight loss continued like normal. So I guess it will remain a mystery.

My surgeon gave me ursodiol postop for 6 months to prevent gallbladder issues. He did not remove it. I am 8 months postop and it is fine. I wanted it out because I was scared.

So I lost a ton of hair. I'm pretty sure it's growing back. I have a bunch of short hairs. I just hope it's not hair breaking off. I'd be finding it like before and I'm not. Anyone else?

No bald spots and it has stopped. It was bad from 4-6 months. I am downing the biotin and I think the little hairs I'm seeing all over is new growth.

What a great feeling! I have been in the 16 rut for a while. I noticed last week that I took off a pair of pants without unbuttoning them. This weekend I got curious while out shopping and grabbed a regular 16 and 14. I fit in a 14. This is the smallest size I have worn in over 20 years and the smallest I have been since I've been married to my husband. It feels great doesn't it?!

I just had my mirena removed yesterday because of so many complications. My doctor put me on the nuvaring and I was wondering the same thing.

I'm down about a shoe size and no longer need wide shoes.

I won't deny myself tasting it. I have yet to taste something I've been craving and actually want more. Tasting was either suffice or so horrible I didn't want any more.

My smell after surgery was different. Not better or worse just different. Not sure if I got use to it or if it went back.

I've been laid off twice in my life and I haven't died, the world didn't end or anything like that. Keep finding the positives, definitely enjoy some time off and when you are ready get up and find a great job! Good luck!! -
That's awesome!! Congrats!!

Wow!! I wish that I had that issue. I have found very few things I can't eat. Chips and salsa are the cultural norm around here. Fighting with myself to grab a chip is painful. I resort to ordering a glass of water breathe out of my mouth. My will power is not as strong as I wish it could be. I have had waitresses take the basket away or if I'm with a group I tell them to put it out of my reach. Chick Fil a kids meal with grilled biggest and fruit is a great option.

Sorry to add more because I feel like you are taking a pounding from everyone. My surgeon has repeatedly told me to limit my fruit intake because it naturally has a lot of sugar and carbs. Sticking to veggies (yes they create gas, but are healthier) and protein is the plan. I still after 7 months have a hard time eating tougher meats like steak and chicken breast. In my soft food stage there were a lot of boiled egg whites, oatmeal (I made it thinner) and ground turkey. I really have limited protein shakes because I can get it in my food. Fish is really healthy and has some great nutrients. Water is key! I know when I drink my water the weight is flying off of me, but when I'm kind of drinking it just sort of comes off a few ounces at a time. I focus on protein intake and watch sodium and sugar. I have my list of safe foods and go from there. Adjust different things like water, or calories and see what works for you. I can sit here all day and tell you what works for me. I know for some a 900 calorie diet works and others it's 800. So just play with it. Maybe you need more exercise or water. You are doing great, don't give up now!

I am 7 months post op. My sw was 324, and after today's scale check I was 199. I have lost 125 lbs. I no longer have a 2 or 3 in front of my weight. I have won a battle that I thought I'd never come close to winning. I'm not done, but if I didn't lose another pound after today that would be ok too! I have a lot to be thankful for!

When did you guys start drinking regular coffee again?
TXMissy replied to ButterflyRainbow's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I drink regular coffe. A cup a day. I'm 7 months post op. I use fat free creamer and less than half a sweetener.
