I got mirena 2 months after surgery. It's been a nightmare. I have only been without a period for a total of 2 weeks and 3 weeks since inserted. I'm so over it. Cravings, emotions, and more cravings. Luckily I crave chocolate, but as soon as I taste it the sweetness is too much so I'm over it!

I drink majority water (80 oz plus some each day). If I need a change I will have an occasional coffee (fully caffeinated with fat free creamer and half a packet of sweet n low), an unsweetened green tea (starbuck's or I make my own), or once maybe every month or so a tiny bit of orange juice (less than 4 oz). I can't do crystal light, but wil squeeze lemon into my water once in a great while. Milk, only almond for me and I don't drink it straight.

When you were approved how long out did it take to get a date? I'd imagine once your levels are up they can give you a date just as quick. I have a friend who had rny about 5 years ago and has fought her iron levels since before surgery. She has to get transfusions and takes more iron supplements than anyone I know. She has extreme health issues. Believe me when I say you really want to be right before surgery so that maintaining will be easy.

It took a good month to feel energized. I can say when it came though I felt amazing, I was ready to run. I often have more energy than my 14 year old. Caffeine use to be my drug, but ever since I dumped it I feel great!!

So first off I would make sure you are right where you need to be prior to surgery. After surgery it's going to be harder to absorb the iron. Going in with a deficit is the last thing you will want. Make sure you are getting iron from food not only supplements. Calcium is important too, but make sure you aren't taking them together. It's harder for some than others. Secondly, if you have already been approved I would check to see if they can schedule you now or if they want you to wait until your levels are ok.

Looking for Dr. In Houston for gallbladder removal and bypass
TXMissy replied to ellekay's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Try The Davis clinic. -
At the time if surgery I had a 13 and a 9 year old. I told both of them what I was doing. My 9 year old was scared. He is also the one watching me. He questions if I can have something I'm eating. I don't make a big scene out of the obvious. My clothes, my plate, or my new body. I told them I was going to be healthier and I am. My meals don't very much from theirs. I may pass on French fries, starches or fried foods. I feel good and I think they notice that.

5k 10 days after surgery?
TXMissy replied to Maria Kae Smith's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
My surgeon said that if it hurt don't do it. At 5 days post op I couldn't walk that much, 10 days it would have been a close call, 15 days no problems. Definitely something you have to decide for yourself. -
I made turkey meatballs and put a spoonful of marinara sauce and blended it. After six weeks of no food it was amazing. I topped it with mozzarella cheese. I took it slow. The first few meals we very small. I chewed and spaced out my bites. If say I had about 3 tbsp my first meal.

Grateful, blessed, but NOT losing weight.
TXMissy replied to meyouus's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I have had several small stalls. You are exercising and the muscle you are building weighs more. I know that is not what you want to hear. It will come off, keep up the great work!! -
I think ideally all of want pizza and burgers. I do for sure, but full of calories we don't need. I eat burgers, but some places will lettuce wrap them. They are great. Pizza, I won't try. I'm not willing to sacrifice my success for it. I have eaten a couple of slices of turkey pepperoni with my salads or for a snack with a half of cheese stick. You have just started a long journey and there will be times when making good choices can be difficult but you have to decide what is best for you. I've never had a burger on a bun that I thought was super healthy. i order a burger by less so I'm not tempted with a salad no fries. I cut the burger in half and scoop out a fourth of the salad. That's my meal and there is usually leftovers from that.

I too agree you calorie count may be a bit low. I am between 850-900 daily. I was having reaction to the amount of sugar/carbs in my diet causing similar effects. I remember getting up one morning and nearly passing out in the shower. Luckily my mom was over and she heard me use the wall so I didn't fall, scared me. At about the 3 month mark and watching everything it got better. I take in very few carbs and sugar. Even watermelon set me off. The surgeon said I may be more sensitive than others.

Quest are my favorite I like the white choco raspberry and love love love the pb&j. I don't like the chocolate ones because the the protein I was on presurgery ruined chocolate forever!!

Tomorrow I will I'll be 5 months and my surgeon told me to wait a full year. Some are just light weights, some can't handle a few have really bad effects like passing out after a few drinks. I'm scared. I think I'll keep waiting, I'm not dying from not having it so I'll stick it out.

Well my scale started moving again and this morning I officially hit 100 lbs from my hw. I'm so excited, I can't believe surgery was less than 5 short months ago. I still would like to lose more, but I am so happy. Next milestone goal is 125 lbs and I want to lose that by the end of the year. That will put me in onderland.

I keep getting this question and everyone wants a freaking number?! Why?! Please explain! I'm 6 pant sizes down, I fit in booths at restaurants, I go to get in my car and realize that no one moved my seat up except me so I could teach the petals, my clothes are falling off me. Why is that number so important?! I'm so excited about all the other things!! If I always tell people how awesome they look when they lose weight, but I would never ask how much. I feel like I should walk around with a white board tied to my neck with that number written on it.

Still a 42 c, but I can't tighten the bands or straps any more. My cups haven't changed though. Still the same fullness. Side fat down a whole lot!
-
Oh how could I be stupid! Of course I look great! I just lost 92 lbs! I want to punch the next person who tells me I look great to my face and talks about me behind my back! News flash people! My weight loss is not about you or how you feel about me! Honestly I don't really care what you think! I have been pleasing people since 1977 and I am done. I work hard, it hasn't been easy, but I'm reaping the benefits! I will no longer participate in donut day or birthday celebrations in case you didn't get the memo. It's not because I am better, it's because I am changing who I am instead of the gross person you must of thought I was before. Because I have to spend 8 hours with you 5 days a week does not entitle you to be mean! If you don't like it go kick rocks for all I care! I'm not your punching bag, but feel free to be mine! I forgot I came to work with a bunch of junior high kids! Venting over!!

I would think the soup would have done it before the fish unless it was real greasy.

Embarrassed to go swimming
TXMissy replied to ANewMe83's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wear a tankini with a skirt bottom. It has like a regular swim suit underneath for added support with the skirt looser. I'm very self cautious. This past summer I went to a water park and I found out it could be so much worse and I'm sure it was at one point to wear a swimsuit. -
Loulourt who is your surgeon?
-
I'm going on my fourth week of not losing. It's not my first stall and it won't be my last. As long as you are doing what your surgeon and NUT tell you, you will start losing. This is normal at 3-4 weeks. Hang in there, the best is yet to come!!
-
I deal with them daily, they know. I don't hide anything. They think I paid thousands and thousands out of pocket. I maybe total paid a thousand for my surgery with co-pays, shakes, parking and time off work. I have just decided that they are ignorant women who need to grow up! If they feel threatened by my weight loss then it is their loss. they obviously need better entertainment. I have enough on my plate and if they are that concerned about me then maybe they need to be. Honestly, I'm not too terribly concerned about them. I did my surgery for me not them.

I cannot complain now about my husband. He notices and he will flat out tell anyone who ask she has worked out and watched everything she puts into her mouth. She amazes me has fallen out more than once! It feels great when he tells others, BUT he doesn't tell me! I have shared every pound with him. He has seen me struggle and helped me choose the healthy option when I struggled to make good decisions. He is quick to tell me when I don't need to wear those pants that I insisted on wearing because the were falling off my butt. He just never really voices that I look good. It comes out in spurts, and I look forward to them. One day I put on a skirt and he said, wow! He is very unemotional and his parents raising him we quick to tell him how awful he was (which he isn't) and the praises were few. He is not me! I do know that in the almost 15 years I've been married that this was an issue long before the surgery. It has taken years of telling him I love him, I miss him, I want him to hold me or whatever it was I wanted for him to just do it. It's bad habits that have been built. I use to tease him that in my next life I wanted to come back as his cell phone. I even chime out, ring ring!! He knows exactly what It means when I do it. The point in me telling you this is that my work on the man I married is now the fabulous husband I have now. It takes time and if you want it, you have to be willing to give a lot of time and effort. Yes it feels great to walk by and have my husband grab at my butt or put his hand on my back and rub a little. Both because it's obvious that my body is different. That is his way of saying he notices it without saying it. It's a two way road and my biggest fear is losing him, I now know his biggest fear is losing me.

Yup picture me on that scale every morning, with my fingers crossed and then a palm to my forehead. This is a week now. Reallly?! I am about to throw my scale out. However, I have noticed inches. I am far from giving up. I am now 4 1/2 months out. I've lost 95 lbs and I feel great! I just think my body needs some time, but so close to 100 lbs?! Only 30 lbs to Onderland!!
