Right now, my legs still feel heavy. I know this will subside. Right now I'm ready for a nap LOL I did manage to get my meds down this morning, and that is a good sign. Catch everyone later.

Wow, what an experience! Went in at 7:40 as expected, surgery was supposed to be at 9;40. I finally went back at 12:30!! That was a bit frustrating to say the least. Woke up in a bit of pain and nauseous. I think the dry heaves were the worst. They gave me meds for both, the pain and nausea. I was pretty much out of it until late this morning. Still had both problems, Again they gave me injections. Around noon they gave me two Percoset. The nausea stopped and pain subsided. So, they sent me home, about 2:30. Didn't fully realize something else. The bloat! From saturating me with saline or puffing me up with gas, don't know which it is, but I can't even get my undies on! I tried putting on my wedding ring, that's going to have to wait until this bloat goes down! On an up-note, when I weighed in at the hospital I was down to 204! Getting down sf-Jello, Water, chicken broth with no problems. Just really tired.

Yep, I'm due at the hospital at 7:30am, surgery at 9:40am, good Lord willing and the creek don't rise LOL Don't know how I'll sleep tonight. Nervous, excited, scared, wondering what life is going to be like from tomorrow on. All of it.

toler48 replied to ♥dreamable's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@@*Lexie* That is a great comparrison to make. Maybe add child birth? I honestly think this is the hardest thing I have done since giving birth. It is not an easy way out, no way! -

How can I get my family in my corner?
toler48 replied to ♥dreamable's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My best friend for the past 55 years thinks I'm crazy ( though she could use some help too since she is weighing in at 300+) My hubby thinks its drastic and I should try another diet (right, the last diet got me where I'm at now, 210) I have the full support of friends and my children and grandchildren, and that is where I lean for courage. I know my hubby will help me at home but I also know I can't count on him to be a cheer section. I've just had to put my big girl panties on (and are they BIG now LOL) and walk tall and do this FOR ME! I'm 67 years old, it's about time I did something just for me! Selfish little me! BE STRONG!!! -
Did you have to give yourself injections?
-
@@lmm300missouri I asked my doctor about the drain tube and he said I wouldn't have one (goodie) My hubby will do the shots for me. I have a real bad problem with needles LOL Thank you for your support.

Applesauce, unsweetened is on my soft foods list. Our grocery had HoneyCrisp apples on sale for 97 cents a lb. I bought a dozen and made my own applesauce, with a little lemon and cinnamon. I used my blender to process it to baby food consistency. Froze it up in little 2oz cups. HoneyCrisp really is sweet enough on it's own, but my NUT said I could add a little Splenda if needed.

Thank you! This is for sure the hardest thing I have ever done, but the reward will be worth it! I know it will!

@@Radar I feel you. I'm realizing myself now, my relationship with food, and what I'm about to do. It's really kind of scary and wonderful all at the same time. I know that this is going to be the hardest thing I have ever done in my entire life. Having two kids was a breeze compared to this. But, I know the reward will be worth it.

@@patsy1947 Oh Boy, surgery is Wed the 16th, just a little over a day away! Getting nervous, excited, frantic, all of it.

@@elliesgaga Good Luck and keep us posted. I'm getting nervous, excited, both at the same time. Only 2 days to go! I'm worried about getting all the water in also. I'm not much of a water, or anykind of liquid, drinker. I'll have to set a timer I guess. I've had a little of the "nesting" syndrome. Trying to think of all the things my hubby needs to do that I can't. Cleaning, organizing. Frantic LOL

Ok, had my pre-op visit with the surgeon. Everything is a go. He said he would not put a drain in, thank you I will have to give myself injections in the tummy for a week, to prevent blood clots. Getting a tad nervous, but excited too.

Hunger cravings after sleeve?
toler48 replied to sleevingbeauty17's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@sleevingbeauty17 Yes, the portion of your stomach that releases the hunger hormone, grehlin (sp), is in the portion of the stomach removed during surgery. -
I start on pureed at week 2 I believe. I start protein shakes day 3, along with creamed soups.

@@katybelle7 I had a drain when I had the top two lobes of my right lung removed becaue of cancer. I had that drain for a couple weeks. The only bad thing about it was cleaning it, the drainage was super nasty. So I'm not concerned about a drain.

@@patsy1947 Thank you so much for the tips. I've been a little worried about getting the Water in and your idea sounds like it would work like a charm. I'll holler if I need you!

@@katybelle7 Forgot to mention, I am a quilter also.

@@katybelle7 LOL the PA at my surgeons office told my hubby that the first 3-4 days, everything would be his (hubbys), if the sun didn't come up at the right time, hubbys fault, if the Water didn't get hot enough fast enough, hubbies fault LOL it was kind of funny. He told hubby to just walk very quietly and say yes dear, a lot. I had to do a chemical stress test because they couldn't get my heart rate up high enough on the treadmill. It was fine, no problems, if you take away the fact that I threw up the 2 glasses of water they wanted me to drink. ick Other wise I passed with flying colors. Ok folks, now, what else aren't you all telling? This is the very first I've heard anyone (besides my question to Patsy) mention the shots. Anything else I might want to know? Come on, talk LOL Sometimes I think I have too much information. Oh, I ordered a couple sample packs from My Bariatric Pantry. They carry the Protein powders that my surgeons office recommends. I have also picked up sf Jello and sf pudding and sf popcicles. Not too much stuff though. I'm 67 also and ready to start a thinner new life.

@@patsy1947 Thank you patsy! Since the broken foot healed, I've finally gotten back to walking. It may all be in my mind, but I seem to be feeling every extra pound I'm carrying. I just drag on my walks. It could be from being a slug for 6 weeks, I don't know. I'm sure, once I get some of the weight off, I won't feel like this. Hey, question, did you have to do injections in your stomach after surgery? They told us, when we went to the TMC orientation class, that we would be doing that, to help keep our blood thinned. I've just never heard anyone else mention that. Also, did you have a drain after surgery? I'll ask Dr Monash tomorrow, but just thought I'd inquire here too.
