What helped you through pre/post op liquid diet?
shortybg2 replied to RellaBelle's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I'm finishing up day three of my pre-op low carb diet and loving it! The first two days where tough but today was easy with planning. If you can stock up on sugar free jello, it's keeping my sweet tooth at bay and helping me stay sane. -

April/May sleevers!
shortybg2 replied to SassyRNMom's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Hi everyone! I'm officially booked for April 25th in Mexico. I started this journey at 190 lbs which on my 4'10" body feels like a million pounds. After the last week of low carbs, high protein I am at 187 lbs. I start the liquid pre-op diet Saturday and I'm hoping to be at 185 lbs the day of surgery. -

How do you handle family ?
shortybg2 replied to Band07's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
@@Band07 when I told my family I was going to The Dominican Republic for a tummy tuck in 2013 they thought I was crazy. However to this day with weight gain and all I still think it was one of the best decisions I ever made. You just have to keep remembering that this is for you! I'm having surgery on the 25th and couldn't be happier with this decision too!!! -
Hi y'all! I'm in Denver and just starting the process at University of Colorado. I did the orientation last week and go for my consult Friday. We shall see what they say, fingers crossed I'm a candidate for a VSG.

Seeking Buddies 5'2" & Under
shortybg2 replied to ladymacwhiz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi everyone, Well I'm 4'9" and currently weighing 190. I've struggled with my weight since having my son at 16. In 2013, I had a TT done after losing some weight but have gained it all back and then some over the last two years. I've started the process to go through my insurance but am also researching going out of the country. I really nervous to get denied and to continue gaining. I have my consult Friday, 4/10, to see if the insurance company will even consider me. -

Rocky1, what is JCI? -
Good morning everyone, I have just begun looking into the whole insurance bit and went to the initial orientation. However, my BMI is currently right at 40 and they made it very at the orientation that patients below 40 must have a pre-exciting condition to qualify. What happens if I lose weight and did below 40 during the 6 months of food logging and weight management that required by the insurance? Has any one been denied for this reason?

Dr. Rodriguez in April ?
shortybg2 replied to Band07's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Hi, I was just looking at flights for around that time. I'm not a 100% sure if I'm going to be going to Mexico or jumping through the insurance hoops but I'm starting to look. If you don't mind me asking why did you choose your doc? I've received a few quotes and there are so many to choose from.
