  1. I think I was allergic to pain pill. Once I quit taking it my throat swelling and soreness went away.
  2. I had surgery 4/23. I have an persistent tickle in my throat. I am just on liquids and they seem to go down fine. But wonder if this could be regurg? It doesn't burn. Also have secretions that make me cough also. I haven't been drinking all my Protein shakes. They just aren't appealing. broth, juice and popsicles mostly. Is it something i should worry about. I am sipping not gulping. The tickle and trigger to cough happens even a long time after drinking Thanks
  3. I know had a tube down my throat for surgery but had been fine up until today . Had gastric band on 4/23. Now lymph nodes at base of neck feel swollen. My throat is a little sore and scratchy? Trying protein shakes today don't really like them. I like the clear liquids much better. They seem to be going down ok just seem to coat my throat and make it worse. Anything to worry about?
  4. I found out last week my surgery was approved after 5 months of nutitional counseling and psych visit. I go for my upper GI this week and then to the surgeon on April 13 to schedule surgery. I have told a few of the girls I work with that I am planning on doing this. A couple of them had daughters that have been banded. My husband is kind of supportive. He says whatever I want to do but Im not planning on telling my parents they wouldn't understand why I can't just buckle down and loss weight. As we all know we have tried multiple times. So I would love to have someone that has struggled with obesity for years to help me as I start this journey.. I have read multiple books about the surgery and recovery but it is so much better to have someone who has been thru it. I am 55 years old and have struggled with obesity since I had my son when I was 24. Never overweight before that. and neither is my family. So I have felt like the odd one out for years. I am an RN and I work full time. I am married and have one grown son who is 30 and is going to be married in June.So if anyone would like to help me walk thru this journey I would much appreciate it. Oh by the way I would like to loss 100 pounds.
