Any April 18 sleevers?
tiffanymarie6997 replied to MrsKTS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine was April 18th as well. Tomorrow I start my full liquids. I've only lost 2 pounds but I'm hoping it's because I've been swollen and such. I've been meeting my goals but like you, I'm so tired of liquids ???? Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App -

Hi! My surgery date is the 26th! We're close! I start my liquid diet tomorrow! I have 7 days!!! How about you?My surgery date ended up being the 18th so I had a 2 week liquid only diet and was sleeved Monday! After a rough couple of days (vomiting, not keeping down any Water, Protein, pain meds) things have started getting better day by day. I hope all goes well for you! Nerves have been setting in for the past week or so....But shoo! They are full blown today. I am so ready to be waking up from the surgery and starting my life as a "sleever". Can you guys leave me advice on what I should buy to "eat" for the first couple weeks? Liquid diet, puree' stage, soft food stage, etc. I'd really appreciate it! -
3 days since surgery

I bought some yesterday and I'm hoping they'll start making a difference soon. I had to apologize to my Mom. I said "I'm sorry Mom, but if I have an opportunity to pass this gas, I'm going to take it" lol Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App -

I haven't vomited any more, still pretty sore. My doctor said me dry heaving probably made me more sore than I would have been. I've been able to pee, but still no BM. The gas pains are rough...feel like my chest/stomach are exploding at times. I just had my post op appointment and they said I'm doing good, beside one incision that's red around it. I have to keep an eye on it and if the redness spreads any more they'll put me on some antibiotics. I still feel bad....but I feel better than I did. Hopefully I keep improving! Getting all my Water and Protein in is hard with all this pressure in my chest and stomach. I'm doing my best. I hope everyone else is doing okay! Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App -

I'm hoping I'm through the worst of it. I was really starting to get nervous. I still am of course. Dry heaving/puking with a newly stapled stomach can't be good. I just hope nothing messed up in the process. If I could just get this gas to calm down so I could swallow, I'd be in a lot better shape. Also, the New whey liquid Protein shots my doctor recommended are unbearable to drink. So I'm trying to find another way to get in my protein. Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App -

I called and let them know that I wasn't able to keep anything down, not even the smallest sip of Water. They prescribed me zofran for my nausea and it seems to be helping. I was actually able to take my pain medicine and keep it down. I'll let y'all know what I find out at my doctor's appointment tomorrow. I really appreciate the prayers! I'm having a rough time. Puking a lot, I puke every time I take my pain medicine which is liquid, and even sometimes when I only drink the smallest sip of Water I puke. I've been in a lot of pain, and can hardly drink anything due to throwing up and all the pressure in my chest. My follow up appointment is tomorrow. I'm going to explain what's going on and update you on what they decide to do. Thanks for checking on me! Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App -

What was your "Yep. I'm getting WLS." moment?
tiffanymarie6997 replied to GranadoM74's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When the man that lives in the apartment below me went to the office and filed a complaint that every time I walk around it sounds like I am throwing bowling balls on the ground and about to come through the ceiling. I woke up to an eviction notice on my door if I didn't "resolve the issue within 14 days". I was so embarrassed and humiliated. I walk around softly and barefoot, and have large rugs to hopefully avoid being loud and still was complained on. Even though I feel he was exaggerating a bit, that was one of my many moments that lets me know I need to do this. Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App -

Liquid diet day 2-STRUGGLING
tiffanymarie6997 replied to tiffanymarie6997's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I completely understand. Yesterday I was with a friend and she bought herself and her daughter some Popeyes chicken. It smelled so good and my mouth was literally watering. Not eating a single bite of food for 9 days will do that to you I guess lol. I couldn't wait to get out of the car and away from the smell. It was truly torture. FMLA approved....one more hurdle to go.
tiffanymarie6997 posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My surgery is scheduled for April 18th. I've already bought all my Vitamins and such, and have started my 2 week pre-op liquid diet. Now that I know I have the time off work that I need, my last huge worry is the amount that my co-pay for the surgery itself will be. I have been told I'll have to pay it the day of surgery and I am terrified I won't have enough money for it. I'm trying to not stress too much and stay positive, but this could potentially put everything at a screeching halt and I can't imagine not having the surgery at this point. I guess just pray for me guys, and if you don't pray please keep me in your thoughts or send some good vibes my way! Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App -

Is it a copay or your deductible that it's being applied to. If it's your deductible they aren't allowed to collect up front...a claim as to be submitted and the insurance company as to approve based upon the contracted agreed amount. If it's your copay, then that amount is usually already outlined in your summary of benefits. Hope that helps. I work insurance and I know how frustrating it can be Sent from my SM-G935T using the BariatricPal App I honestly don't know, I'm not the brightest in the insurance department! I just know I have an out of pocket maximum of $2500 and I'm close to $2100 already, before the surgery. Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App -
Liquid diet day 2-STRUGGLING

Figured I'd post an update! Now I'm on day 9 and my surgery is Monday. It does seem easier now, when I don't allow myself to think about it. I've been trying to stay occupied which is challenging because I'm generally a boring person lol. I am surviving though and in the beginning I didn't know if I could make it through the 2 weeks. I'm almost there! 41 shakes down, 29 to go! Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App -
I was approved for the sleeve but denied for my hiatal hernia to be fixed. My doctor said he will be repairing it anyways as it is necessary for my sleeve to be as successful as possible. If the lap band will interfere with your sleeve success, hopefully your doctor has the same mindset as mine. I would definitely ask your surgeon about it. Frustrated with this long WAIT to get a surgery date
tiffanymarie6997 replied to Maggie Journey's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have Anthem BC/BS. My surgery was approved about 4 days after everything was submitted, and my surgery is now only 9 days away! Maybe it won't take as long as they are saying....they're probably telling you worst case scenario so if you don't hear anything after a few days you're not in panic mode.
