I am a big fat phony failure
tomzilla23 replied to chunkyloverlovesyou's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Love it. I had a employee that used to tell me that when she didn't want to do something. Love it. Keep that attitude. -
I live in OK also and my insurance was the same way. I went to tj and had it done last Friday, Saved several thousand dollars, and the surgery couldn't have gone better. I know its a long way away, but i couldn't justify 8k to stay close to home with the same outcomes. You will make the right decision, just letting you know, the Mexico option is a safe and affordable option. Tomzilla

tomzilla23 replied to Keshajo1's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I just got back yesterday through Houston. I had the same hellish travel but the surgery was great and you will do great too. Just walk, and follow instructions, and you will be home before you know it. -

Dr. Kelly in Tijuana
tomzilla23 replied to Diane Liggett's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I'm scheduled with Dr. Kelly on the 22ed. I can tell you more then. I'm in health care and he had some criteria that i liked, I also chose the option for the Angeles hospital. I know it was more but didn't want to cheap out on my life since i'm saving that much over us self pay. Hope that helps. If you need anymore info, let me know. Tom Hill, DPh. -
CALLING ALL MAY 2015 (TIJUANA MEXICO)GASTRIC SLEEVER'S
tomzilla23 replied to BackToBeautiful's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Supppose to leave in Monday, but should be there Sunday if you are going to be there, look me up. -
Did you ever have a problem with Low T before. I'm currently on T replacement therapy, and i'm up for surgery in 3 weeks. I'm due my last shot before surgery next week. I'm curious if the testosterone level changes after your fat:muscle ratio changes post-op. I've been on T for 2 years, and it really helps with mood and energy. I don't want to use it if I don't need to, but was curious what will happen post-op.

Am I Just Being Vain
tomzilla23 replied to cantseemytoes's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Your story mimic's mine exactly. I'm 49, and will be pressing 50 next March. I'm basically healthy (despite how i look) and i was afraid mine was just being vain also. But i've just gotten bigger and bigger and its time for some disease prevention. My knees are hurting now. Out of breath faster and I don't want to hit 50 and be in that much worse shape. My family is very active and I can no longer keep up. My 78 year old father can outwork me and my 55 year old sister can too. Its time for a change for the better. I've been considering it for a few years and its time. Its not vanity, its an improvement in your quality of life. That is what i'm ready for. The physical appearance will help with lots of issues, but the way i want to live can not happen at my current size. I'm sure you are having the second thoughts just like we all do. You will be fine. I just wish i would have done it at your age. Keep up the losing fight. Tom -
Will Sleeving (losing weight) make the workouts easier, or at least less painful?
tomzilla23 replied to Rhodes's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Amen Brother, I'm in the same boot. I just want to be able to do my time every day and not be the low spot of the day. I'm sure my knees won't hurt as bad, but i'm wanting something better than it is now. Good luck! Tom -

How do you handle family ?
tomzilla23 replied to Band07's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I don't know if it will help, but I had a "reverse" intervention to tell all my family at once. after the hell no's i show that I had done my research and the facilities were modern and up to date. After much discussing, now i'm having trouble weeding through my support to see who goes with me. I'm sure it will be one of the best choices i have made for my health and well being. Hope this helps someone.
