All Over Post Op Problems
Bbyblueyez replied to debbie813's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm feeling the same way. I'm regretting getting the surgery... The thought of my protein powder and protein shakes makes me nauseas. Im struggling to get my protein in and fluids too. Im in week 3. Thank god I at least just got mushy food back. It's helping, but I need to get in my protein. Im going to call the doc tomorrow and see about getting some nausea meds. Today the smell of everything made me nauseas. I cried tonight because I'm not sure what I got myself into. I go back to work tomorrow, so I am hoping to get my mind off everything. But I'm worried and trying to figure out how the hell in going to get 80 grams of protein in... -

My SIPS surgery is on Tuesday may 12th in a few days... It's all becoming more and more surreal... I'm scared and excited... I have a great support system and I look forward to the new me! Any suggestions about nervousness leading up to the day? I find myself getting nervous the closer it gets... And the missed emotions don't help lol

Thanks Michelle! I'm glad to hear you are doing great! I know I need to make protein a priority for recovery and I heard it helps with hair loss from the weight loss. I'm excited and talking on here helps a lot to see there are other people that have had successful surgeries. Now the count down begins! I start my liver reduction liquid diet next week.

SIPS - stomach intestinal pylorus sparing

I got approved with BCBS for Sips and it only took 2 days for the approval. If they deny you your doctor can also call to talk to them about it and get them to change the approval status. -

Hello all! I was wondering if there are any people scheduled for the new SIPS procedure. I am scheduled for May 12th with Dr. Tyner. I'm so excited and nervous at the same time. I have never had a surgery before and I am hoping for a smooth surgery and recovery.

That's awesome! Congrats! How is your quality of life now? Compared to before surgery? Do the scars bother you? How long were you out of work for? -

Calling All SIPS Patients!

I am thinking about getting the SIPS procedure done after talking with my surgeon. Originally, I was aiming for the sleeve, but I have a lot of weight to lose. I am scared because I have never had a surgery before and I know it's a newer surgery with research still being done... Has anyone heard of any complications or deaths from getting SIPS?
