    1st weigh in

I hope your appt went well. My first post op visit was at 2 weeks, and the main focus was to ensure that the incisions were healing properly, and take the staples out. I was weighed (like every other time i had been to the drs office) I had lost about 15 lbs at that point. What i was really excited about was I had been taken off 2 of my BP medications and then a 3rd at 1 month. I focused on how good I felt, not the weight loss. The weight will come off, but everyone's body loses weight at a different speed. Good Luck on your journey
  3. Congratulations!!! Sounds like you are the model patient. I had to stay in the hospital for 3 days because my surgeon doesn't allow anything by mouth till 2 days post op! I never had a problem with gas, and I think it was because of the walking! Best of luck in your journey

    Favorites?

My favorite protein is Isopure no carb whey, never had an after taste with that one, and I tried many protein powders. For unflavored I use Great Lakes collagen. I love my Nutri Bullet for shakes, smoothies and soups. My favorite drink is water, I flavor it myself. Most days it is something simple, like pineapple, watermelon, or lemon (you just put some chunks of fruit in a bottle of water overnight), but sometimes I have the time to be creative like basil, watermelon, mint, or cucumber basil...whatever is in season. Good luck with your surgery!!!
  5. I had my sleeve on July 1, and am amazed at the energy I had immediately. I actually felt lighter right away. I was on the liquid pre op duet for 3 weeks because my surgery got delayed a week, so I'm not sure if that was part of it. I am quite active, I do listen to my body though and take a nap when I am feeling tired. I am up to a 25 minute walk twice a day, and feeling great.
  6. WOW sounds like you are having a tough time of it. I had a very different experience post op. I have had no issues with drinking, and on average I am consuming 80-100 oz a day. I was a big water drinker pre surgery and just continued post. I am only week 4 post op, so haven't gotten to the food piece yet. My surgeon doesn't allow soft foods till weeks 5-8, and then normal foods after that. I have noticed a difference in switching to full liquids last week, I definitely fill up faster. I love how I feel, so I would never want to go back to the way I was before. I hope you find a place that you are more at peace with the choice you made, and more comfortable with your new life style
  7. I just had mine 2 weeks ago and it took 1 hour and 50 minutes

    Sleeve Pain vs Cesarean Pain

I had Surgery on July1, and I didn't really have any pain at all. I had some discomfort initially on the first few days post op, but nothing that tylenol couldn't help. I took the 2 weeks off not because of any pain, but because I found that I needed a nap every day LOL. I go in for my 2 week post op visit today, and am sure my surgeon will let me return to work. Good Luck with your surgery!!

    ALmost 2 years out

Congratulations on your weight loss!! The same determination you had when you had the surgery, can help you get back to your goal weight. I have heard that if you start to gain weight trying the Stage 1 diet (liquid/protein shakes)for a week can help to get you back on course. I applaud you taking control of your weight gain now, because if you are like me 20 will become 40 if you don't do something about it. Keep us posted on your progress :-)
  11. Hi this is my first post, I have been lurking on here for awhile. I am 56, and have been married to my wonderful husband for 30 years in June, we have a 25 year old son. I have my surgery scheduled for June 24. I have finished my nutritional counseling, and got clearance from the psychologist as well. I have been cleared by the cardiologist, and just got clearance from pulmonary today. My primary has been supervising my weight loss for the past year. I heard from the insurance company this week, and they approved my surgery. I am equal parts excited and nervous!! LOL I could have the surgery next month, but decided to wait as my husband and I are going on a cruise to Alaska to celebrate our 30th Anniversary at the end of May. I love this site, and really love all the support, so looking forward to joining the group
