    Eating mashed beans sooner

My doc's instructions were liquid until that wasn't getting the job done anymore, then I could move to stage II foods. Their guidance was that typically this is around day 7 for most people. Basically they want you to get in the habit of listening to your body. I am 8 days out today and started with mashed black Beans with a little bit of low fat cheese on top. Had some yesterday and had some today. Was so darn good. I only ate about 1/4 cup each time, potentially a little less, and was fine.

    9 days post op

Im 8 days out and was just thinking the same thing. I am definitely feeling better, just very lethargic and tired.
  3. Glad i found this forum, it has been somewhat uplifting to read the struggles and successes. I had some severe buyers remorse yesterday. I was just obsessing over the fact i couldn't have the foods i have grown up loving. Specifically I was obsessing over Lemon Filled Glazed Donuts...lol, i know...but i was. My wife (who has also had gastric bypass and is doing great) laughed when I told her I actually looked up pictures of donuts on the internet. I had been feeling extremely weary yesterday too. Up until yesterday I had had nothing but liquids; no Proteins at all. I had about 1/3 a Protein shake yesterday afternoon and it really seemed like it may have worked. I had the rest of it this morning, and then I felt like it may be ok to switch to a bit more solid protein, so i had about half a scrabbled egg for lunch today. Am i moving too fast? My paper work from the doc basically says stick with Clear liquids until they no longer are keeping you from feeling weak and weary (typically day 7). Then it says to switch to mushy proteins. Hopefully I'm OK. I'm definitely struggling...still regretting this somewhat, but I know the final outcome will be worth it. Or at least I hope.
