    African American vsgers!

@@byebyefat I feel great , other than I'm always tired and that probably because I'm B12 deficient and I'm suppose to get monthly injections but my insurance doesn't cover the needles. Other than that, I'm fine but frustrated because I know my goal is attainable

    African American vsgers!

Hi everyone ! My situation is a little different. I initially had the band done back in May of 2013 after only losing about 30 pounds and have complications with the band over the course of a 2 year period I was sleeved in March of 2015 so I'm almost a year out. Here's the kicker , in that year I've only lost an additional 10 pounds ???? my doctor doesn't know why he said there's no way I could have stretched my sleeve In less than a year and I don't believe I have because I still get full quickly but no weight loss. My PCP has now put me on a supplement for weight lost to see if it will help called Contrave and I've been on that for about a month and no result yet but I'm keeping the faith. I've also been advised to change my birth control. I'm 24 and I've been on depo for 6 years and my PCP said this could be hindering my weight loss so I start back on the pill the beginning of next month. It's very frustrating , I only have about 30-40 more pound I want to lose I prior to any survey I weighed 253 I weigh 216 now my goal is around 160-170. I was working out 3-4 days a week with a personal trainer for about 8 months up until about 2 weeks ago I stopped going because in those 8 months I didn't lose ANY weight I actually gained 10 pounds granted some could have been muscle because prior to that I couldn't lift more then 2, 10 pound Dumbbells not I can lift 2, 40 pounds ones so I did get stronger but I don't feel like I weigh 216 pounds but I do. Here's a pic jus 2 months after my band and I had lost no weight .......now this is what I look like today at 216 after the removal of band in March of 2015 and sleeved ... Not sure if there will be anyone in this forum with my situation as far as being banded and then converted to sleeve but that's my frustrating story, if anyone has any tips please share ! ????

At a loss, because no loss

I was banded in May of 2013 and Sleeved March of this year. I am having the same issue. Only down 20 pounds in 6 months and its frustrating. I go for my 6 month appt the 15th and I'll have to see what my doctor suggest me to do. I work out 4 days a week with a personal trainer so I know it's not the exercise portion. I feel I can eat more than what I should be able to but according to my dr at my last appt the odds I stretched my stomach in such a sort time is slim to none he says that if people so stretch their stomach it can take years. I feel you pain. I just want to break the 200 ! I'm 205. I only have another 35-40 I want to lose to be at my goal
  4. I'm a band to sleever, I'm 4 months post op and only lost 20 pounds. And now I'm at this stand still and don't know what to do. I have a personal trainer and work out 3-4 days a weeks. It's very frustrating to only be down 20 pounds in 4 months and my doctor expects me to lose 40-50 pounds in 6 months. I got some ways to go before I lose another 20-30 pounds

    Converted 3-4-15

Hey everyone, so I'm kinda at a stand still with my weight loss. It will be 3 months in a few days and I'm hovering around 205-208. I've lost only like 20 pounds. The day of my revision I weighed 226. I have my 2.5 month appt with my doctor on the 16th but I'm just frustrated because I work out with a personal trainer 3 days a week and have been for almost 2 months and I can physically see a change in my body as do others but the numbers on the scale are not changing :/ anyone else having this issue ??
  6. Hi everyone, I was banded on 5-18-13 and converted to the VGS on 3-4-15 the band was removed and sleeved in the same day. I did not have much success with the band. My starting weight was 256 and when I was converted over I weight 226. The lowest weight I ever got down to was 199 but that was because the band was two tight and I could not even hold Water sometimes. I was a fight with the band. Since my conversion, ive lost 13 pounds which is not bad for almost 30 days post op. My doctor did state that since my body is already use to eating smaller meals the weight may come off slightly slower then for someone who never had a bariatric procedure. I'm still on soft foods and sometimes I get disappointed that I have not lost more weight yet but I am being patience. What advised did your doctor give about your potential weight lost after the conversion?
