I'm getting married next year June 18 2016 and I was wondering if anyone else that has had surgery is getting married soon or planning a wedding for the near future. My sleeve surgery is May 14 and I would really like to have some buddies going through the weight loss process with me while also trying to plan a wedding

420 pounds gone forever! This is my journey...
dlmadeja27 replied to Justin Wiseman's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Omg you are so amazing, congratulations on your sucess and you look fabulous! -
So I have completed my nutrition class, my psych eval, and now my EGD! So far I'm passing everything with flying colors! Only things I have left are my labs, chest xray, my EKG, and then to have my primary sign off on me for surgery! I'm getting so excited I can hardly stand it, I feel so completely ready for my surgery on May 14 and can't wait to finally get started on the next chapter in my life!

Yay!!! Thats exciting!!!! Lets just be happy and pumped!

Her concern GreenEyes604 could have simply have been that she was concerned that you had an illness that caused you to lose weight so fast. I know as a nurse that someone losing weight super fast can mean a medical problem like cancer or something else serious. Now obviously you dont have any of that, and you are looking fabulous because of your hard work! The people that will be hardest to fool will be the people you see on a more frequent basis. Just be proud of your success and remember that this is for you and only for you!

Thank you! I'm just getting pumped and I just know this is going to change my life for the better!

So Im not going to lie, I have been drooling over wedding gowns lately and have found some gorgeous options for when Im ready to get my dress! I cant wait for next year!!!

Re Sleeve after weight gain?
dlmadeja27 replied to frumpy69's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
When I dieted before, a good method to get rid of the carb and sugar cravings was to do a colon and candida cleanse. I noticed that if I do those before trying to lose weight and diet it made a huge difference to help give you a fresh start. I dont know how it would be after the procedure because I havent had mine yet but I hope this helps also when I went to my psych eval she said something that made me think. She said you shouldnt eat anything unless its a 10, why waste your time with any thing that doesnt taste its best. So if it isnt good for you and it isnt a 10, dont eat it good luck! -
Lots of NSV's this weekend
dlmadeja27 replied to amazon's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I loved your NSV! I cant wait to lose this weight and go back to Las Vegas and feel like a million bucks! I went for my 21 bday and while I had fun I was so uncomfortable with my weight and my body, all I could see was all the gorgeous women all alround me and it just made me want to hide. I'm hoping that after my procedure I will be able to go back there and feel like a proud confident woman who finally feels comfortable in her own body! Thanks for sharing, you gave me tons of hope for the future! -

So far it has made my face feel A LOT better! I am so curious to see how my face will look at the end of the month especially since I now added the day cream to my daily routine. -

dlmadeja27 replied to yogachick's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Im using Nerium right now! I'm in my first month and Im using the night cream on my face. I have really bad acne scars, cystic acne, and some uneven texture to my skin and it has only been 1 week and I can see a major difference already. I actually just bought the day cream to go with it and I'm going to be using the firm when I have my procedure good luck! -
I havent had mine yet but my friend did and she really missed chewing too, said it was really hard. Thankfully its only for a short period of time! I think it is normal to miss chewing, have you thought about maybe some sugarless gum? My dr will let me have some I just cant swallow it obviously

Anyone compete in bikini after weight loss surgery?
dlmadeja27 replied to yogachick's topic in Fitness & Exercise
My cousin did one of those competitions and its insanely difficult to get that fit. She placed 3 in the competition in Dallas which is insanely awesome but she also had to prepare for it for about 1 year. Good luck and I hope you are able to get there one day! -
Im in oakland county

I never recall actually being 150 in my adult life. The lowest I can ever remember being is 165 while in high school and I could never get back lower than that through out all the years I have tried dieting. I actually have not been below 200 in years despite losing and relosing the same 80 lbs promising myself that this time I will keep it off.. well now I'm excited thinking that I truly will be able to get down to goal weight and stay there once and for all!

Read this before you whine about repetitive posts from newcomers
dlmadeja27 replied to Bluesea71's topic in Rants & Raves
Thank you so much for your post! Honestly it was wonderful and definitely appreciated. I'm a newcomer and I don't know if anyone else can relate to this but I actually prefer the more current posts to the older post for this reason: weight loss surgery is scientific and part of the medical world which means opinions and changes are constantly being made. Something that might have been totally acceptable 2-3 years ago might be now changed and revised for what is now currently needed and necessary. I'm a nurse and I can say that in the last 8 years I have worked in a hospital, so much has changed in practice and how patients are taking care of. I would also assume that WLS would fall under that same category. While I appreciate the fact that some of the same issues years ago people were facing are the same as today, the method of dealing with and helping with those issues could have easily changed. I'm more interested in the current methods and practices not because the old posts won't help, but because I want to know what people are doing right now to help fix the problems. So I do appreciate the new threads and post because it helps give me current information with people who are active and it makes me feel happier to know they are right there with me. Again thank you for the post, made me happy to read it -

We have the same goals and the same amount of weight we want to lose! Im not wanting to get anything for my dress until I start dropping some weight. My surgery is May 14, so its coming up soon. How are you doing so far since your procedure??

Of course Rachel that would be awesome!!! Im glad that I will have extra support while going through all of this, I know we are all going to need it! How much are you hoping to lose?

@@LeeBee17 your dress is gorgeous!! You are definitely going to have to post some pics of you in it! @@kaseyw0od I'm excited to have a friend too! It will be nice to have a weight loss/surgery/wedding buddy As for my dress I used to want something lacey with a bit of bling that hits right at my natural waist and floats out.. But I feel like I might get something a little more form fitting now that I will be getting the surgery! Not a mermaid but maybe a fit and flare??
