Hiatal Hernia because your band is to tight?

I was just diagnosed with a Hiatal Hernia as well, and mine is giving me quite a lot of pain. The doc said it's likely because I was filled too tightly. I had my surgery in Nov, 2007 and I haven't lost an ounce. I originally lost 38 pounds, but it all came back, which is common if you have the hernia, as it can cause you to feel hungry often. Gratefully, my band hasn't slipped, so after correction, I should be right as rain and hopefully the band will once again work for me. I am going to my regular doctor on Monday, with the hopes of getting it corrected quickly. They were hoping that if I cut WAYYYY down on food portions that it could be controlled, but the pain I am in is not worth the "wait and see" game to me. Just another proving point that wanting the band tight is not the proper approach for the tool, because it doesn't stop you from eating, it just stretches the area, or worse causes vomiting. Good luck to you.
  2. Wow, Amy!!! That is so awesome about the kids. I have always wanted to take in more, but hubby says not until our youngest is out....so at least 3 more years. You did very well with your choices....willpower hits me anytime I go into fast food, then I remember I paid $18k for this band, and I just can't see spending $6 to blow it...lol Good luck to you and your new family.
  3. I'll do it again too. I think I needed more than 2 days because I was craving carbs today, fortunately only veggies, but I really want to lose the craving so I don't substitute for a no-no.
  4. Peeing much.....lol. That's exactly what I've been doing ALL DAY LONG. I sure hope I can sleep tonight. Funny This really is a good jump start back to healthy. Thanks for the suggestion Lapbandit, and everyone participating. I can do this one more day, but I want to have my office moved closer to a bathroom.

In need of motivation BIG STYLE

Bunny I am having the same problem, and sometimes the food won't come back up, which is causing a delayed vomit at the most inconvenient time. I am now having to stick to veggie Soup with Beans for Protein. I was very happy at first, but am a bit frustrated...but I know it's my own doing. I am not having any trouble with soup or beans, but anything else clogs me instantly. A great reminder that I need to be able to eat only things I can chew to liquid form; and only those with minimal fat and calories. Try eating various Soups for a week or so, and then slowly add small portions of other things. No bread, potatoes, or anything that can get gooey....that is, at least, my stopper Good luck to you; I really hope you can overcome the hurdles.
