I have my surgery scheduled for May 27th; I know there was a post a while ago that some people were responding to but could not find it again.. but since we are a week away now - wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing? I seem to be doing Ok with the shakes, using the blender and throwing in about 10 ice cubes really makes them thick and yummy and really filling,, much more than I thought the would be. How is everyone else doing? I am very excited for the group of people that is going thru the surgery this week and my best wishes is with them!! K

Carolm1965 how are you doing today - I hope better?? How is everyone else doing?? Is everyone else home now or is anyone else still in the hospital having trouble?? Wishing the best for all of you. Hope to hear from all of you when you get a chance.

I do have the medicine... but I think I was wrong yesterday today is the night before the night before... ha ha...can't keep myself straight... I did real good on the diet I didn't cheat at all. Tomorrow I go in for my mammogram and my yearly.. they were just about due and I was able to get them scheduled for the day before surgery. did not think the mammogram would be too comfortable to do afterwards....then I am going to go get my hair done and a pedicure... then pick my sons early from school so I can start drinking the lovely medicine... I figured no way was I going to be waiting for the kids away from the house and then oh man where is a bathroom.... I wish everyone this week the best of luck and hopefully we all come thru this with all of our dreams just starting to be realized.

So how are you feeling today? Hopefully better, I can't believe that this weekend has finally gotten here. I know I really started this process in January once I found out my insurance started covering this procedure for the first time, but even from then it seems like it has taken a long time. I can't even believe that some of you had do the 6 month diet with the NUT... that would have drove me crazy!!

Wow all of you are doing great even though you each are having different issues. I am very happy that you all have been posting your info so I know what I have to look forward to next Wednesday.... Thanks for taking the time and sharing your stories, I wish all of you speedy recoveries and looking forward to more stories as we go thru this whole new version of us.

Wow the stomach flu - that is no fun anytime.. but you might be surprised what your body does as you recover. I hope you feel better, For my Pre-op diet I am allowed 2 shakes and 1 lean Protein (3 to 6 oz) 1/2 cup of starchy food and unlimited non starchy vegies...no fruit. I have been doing OK - but for lunch I thought I would try scrambling egg beaters... I can officially say that was not my favorite...gosh felt like a ball sitting in my stomach...yuck... has anyone tried to cook those? there must be some trick to it... kind of like the shakes...

Wow looks like a bunch of us are due up first thing in the morning. I can't wait...I am hoping to stay very busy this weekend to keep my mind off of smelling any barbeques going in the neighborhood. I think that is the only thing that has got me so far... But I ignored it.

Hi - yea I am using sugar free syrups like they use for coffee and wow they really do spruce up the shakes. I can't wait either. My surgeon said she is doing two operations on my day but because I am closer to the hospital she will probably have me go first... I think she was talking like 6:00 a.m. for when she will start on me....but of course I won't know for sure until next week...I think I am getting anxious though... it is great to talk with all of you that are in the same boat...I think that it really has actually been helping me not freak out.

Oh you guys, I am so excited for you!! I know I will be having all the same feelings this time next week when it's my turn as well!! Please keep in touch as you go thru the next couple days good or bad; I might not be able to write back until the evenings but I can read them thru the day. Hi so I have been off the computer for a few days.. how do I join the May sleevers group? Is there a special place you all are going now? How has everyone been doing on the shakes? I have been blending them with lots of ice and its like having a frozen milkshake....

So how did it go? I have been off the computer since I wrote last. I am hoping that all is going well and you are able to drink and walk? How is your pain? I am hoping all is going great and you are ready to get discharged by tomorrow. Hope to hear from you soon.

Today is a big day - not only starting the pre-op diet but am exactly two weeks away till surgery date... It seems so weird. trying for so long with such a hard battle with always nothing but disappointment to now having a real tool where I can really see that I will have success. After what seems like my whole life struggling against the weight to have this tool so close now is amazing... There is a light at the end of the tunnel...where before there was always darkness.... Besides to wanting to feel and move better, I have never had a little black dress and really am looking forward to the day when I can go shop for one.. Wow won't that be something......I can't wait!!!!!

I think I'm a week behind you but I will be your buddy too... I just "officially" started my two week diet today.. even though I kind of put myself on a self imposed shake diet for the past two previous weeks but I was cheating here and there.. now there is no more of that!!

Wow 4 weeks is a long time... What kind of shakes are you using? I had purchased the Premier Protein shakes from costco - I got all three flavors since I was not sure what I would like.. The strawberry cream is my least favorite, I think because it is just not flavored enough... I had also purchased some sugar free syrups different flavors, so this morning I put some raspberry in with my shake it tasted much better, not sure if you have any of those syrups but they might be an idea to spruce stuff up to more your likening...

Hi so have any of you started your two week diet yet? I see my NUT this Friday I'm excited but nervous at the same time, I know I am ready, even though I know it will be a test of wills... not to cheat...I am really working on getting my mindset ready to do battle. It's hard because I have a couple of children I still have to cook for and just keeping in mind this is not for me even though it might smell good plays mind games. No you can not just have a tiny taste... Are any of you going thru this too?

Hi - I also have May 27th scheduled for my surgery date... I'm getting very excited!!!! It will be nice keeping in touch with you all as we go along thru this journey....

HI - I have been reading all of your posts for a couple of months or so now however I just signed up today. I have already seen my surgeon, seen the psych and the NUT and I confirmed with my insurance company that they got all the paperwork last Tuesday so this Tuesday 3/31 will be one week. They give a two week turn so I should know by April 7th...if I am approved... oh gosh I hate to wait.... I feel like I am so ready to get going on this new adventure for the rest of my life. (looks like when my approval comes thru, I might be scheduled for beginning of May for surgery) I really appreciate how open and honest everyone is and feel like I have learned a lot of tips and great advice along the way. Just wanted to say Thank you for all the inspiration and Good Luck to everyone!! Any one else playing the waiting game as well???

HI - no I was lucky that they did not require the six month NUT visit, not exactly sure why... but I'm not going to question it. Don't want them to change their mind.
