Steve Puckett replied to Daisee68's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started ob protein bars about 3 months out but could probably have started sooner -
I had problem too. Don't worry a little over a year out and I drink almost 200 oz. a day !

When will I stop loosing?
Steve Puckett replied to BubblyTXGirl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Great advice, I increased my protein to about 120 grams a day and I seem to have stabilized at 170 lbs. Still keeping calories at 1000 a day or less though. -

Steve Puckett replied to jessica2014's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I avoid both places, I AVOID being near bread. Fellow patients, we don't need or should we consume bread anymore ( said the VERY successful patient ) -

CHEW>>>CHEW>>>>CHEW like never before and swallow tiny bits each time. Non-dailey bowel movement is VERY NORMAL, remember that you are not taking in the volume of food from your previousbigfatlife -
eat peanut butter, lots of potato chips, never exercise....so easy to gain weight

I need to VENT!
Steve Puckett replied to Aspring424's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will envy these early days !!!! Just hope you don't get into chips and real milk shakes and show -0- weight loss 12 months from now. Your capacity will increase, don't push it too fast or your capacity will increase fast as well as your inability to lose weight, patience -
Just let your shakes set for a few minutes, the foam will dissipate, then you can enjoy your masterpieces
-
I drink, 1/4 caf ! and it tastes like full strength, real coffee and 1% milk, 10 CUPS A DAY !!!!
-
1% MILK works for me, no problem
-
Look, no magic here. You've put on weight because you are taking ion more calories than you burn...THE TRUTH. Exercise every day, eat healthier, eat less...FACT. You at least have the tool of the surgery which absorbs less of what you eat and less true stomach hunger. Two months out after revision is nothing, keep on a diet, keep working out.
-
Please be patient , John. it can take up to two years for long time Type II patients to get well clear of high blood sugars (so says my Doctor ). Keep exercising , loose more weight, keep exercising ....repeat, YOU WILL BEAT IT !!!!
-
80% less protein??? SO SORRY, I meant 80% less calories & FAT, it has ALL the protein

Gastric Bypass VS Sleeve
Steve Puckett replied to jhammer2's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
RNY for me, hands down. I was a serious diabetic, now not at all., further the plumbing change means that you can't ever really get the stomach stretch of the sleeve patients because you have a stoma and not a sphincter exiting your stomach/pouch. also approx. 3 meter in total of small intestine is no longer used to absorb food so the same person eating the same things would lose more weight with the by-pass than the sleeve. See what I have done below, had my surgery July 2014. -
I feel sorry for you, man ! I didn't realize such complications occurred so many years out from a very successful patient as you !
