    Back in the hospital.

I am not looking for medical advice have all that now but never heard of this happening before or listed as a complication so just wondering if anyone ever experienced it.
  2. Hi everyone just spent another five days in the hospital after being 10 days post. I had an episode of very heavy bleeding with no pain and no fever. They were unable to detect where the bleeding started it lasted about three days and they did many tests and it just stopped now. The blood was coming from my rectum with no hemorrhoids noted. I have tried to research what this possibly could be and it does not appear to be a leak and the doctor discharged me. I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this after surgery. The surgeon did a scope and also colonoscopy and all they found was some inflammation around the sleeve. any advice or any similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.

    Vitamins?

Thanks I just found an article that stated the same thing. Thanks I will continue on with the bypass vitamin schedule.
  4. Hi I'm confused because I was supposed to have gastric bypass and I got to sleeved on Tuesday during surgery due to scar tissue. All the information I have is for vitamins I'm supposed to take for the gastric bypass but I'm not sure if they're the same or if the sleeve requires you to take less does anyone have a list of vitamins that they take daily and how much? How often? Appreciate any feedback.
  5. Hi my name is Marnie I am 46 years old and just recently had my surgery. I was told I was getting the gastric bypass and have prepared extensively for that but during the surgery the surgeon due to scar tissue from previous abdominal surgeries decided to do the gastric sleeve. I was a bit surprised and taken back because I was preparing for the other operation but now I'm hearing I'm quite lucky and that the sleeve is a great option. I was concerned the weight-loss would be less however after everything I've read I'm more encouraged. I've lost a total of 20 pounds since starting the OPTi fast before the surgery so I'm feeling optimistic this will continue. Was wondering if anyone feels overwhelmed by the whole process because it feels like my day is spent trying to get all the protein and liquids in. It's interesting reading other people have such different diets after surgery I am on full fluids for two weeks and then puréed foods for another two weeks. I am a social worker and work at a local high school, married with two children 16 and 12 supportive on seeing their mom getting healthy. My highest weight was 239 pounds. Even after surgery that's hard to see that weight in writing. I wish everyone a speedy recovery from surgery and a lifetime of health.
  6. Had the surgery on March 24, now able to swallow and get fluids in.
  7. I was still in hospital, but had all the same symptoms hiccuping dry heaving constantly. They told me I would be fine but I finally fought for the IV to go back in and give me the meds through the IV and it finally stopped the vomiting cycle. You can't really move on to recovery when the nausea is that bad. I feel for her. It is all consuming.
  8. The only think that helped get rid of the nausea was through IV. They hydrated me and put the pain meds through the IV. In a few hours my system settled down where I was able to sip.
