  3. Hello ... I take a multi-Vitamin, and it really seems to have everything in it that you're looking for ... AND it was the one suggested by my Nutritionist. I take a Bariatric Chewable from ProCare Health. It's a "one a day" chewable. I checked the supplement values, and it has everything you're basically looking for. The one I take says it's orange flavored, but it really doesn't taste like orange ... it's not horrible tasting, but it's not great tasting either. I like it because it's the only pill I take in the morning, and then I take my Calcium chews later in the day & evening. I hope this helps!!! Best of luck to you!!
  4. OK ... first of all ... take a deep breath! Please don't feel that you're alone ... we're all in this together, and being here and talking with others will really help. I'm due for surgery next week ... April 30th. I have been excited about this surgery for a long time. Every now and then I think to myself, "Will I be able to go out to dinner with friends ever again"? I'm sure all the thoughts you're having ... and the stress ... is normal. When I start to think about all the what ifs, I remind myself of why I'm doing this in the first place. I think of my health issues that will be helped or completely gone after this surgery. I think of being able to comfortably put on socks without having to throw one leg at a time up on the bed ... I think of being able to walk again without feeling out of breath. I want to be able to not worry about the size of a chair when I go out, or to an office for an appt. I want to experience not feeling like I'm the largest person in the room. I look at it this way ... the day of my surgery is my 59th birthday. I've spent a lot of years eating, over eating, indulging in sweets and going overboard. Eating isn't even enjoyable anymore. I think the beginning of our journey will be the hardest. I believe the first two months will be the real test, and the most difficult. We will be re-learning how to eat, portion control, what to eat, etc. There will definitely be challenges. But I know for sure ... as soon as I start losing weight and can actually see and feel that difference, a whole new attitude and way of thinking will open up to me. One thing I've noticed here ... there are SO many different experiences. I think you can find support for whatever issue you're dealing with ... so please don't give up. It truly will have been worth it in a few months when you see and feel the new you. Keep writing about your thoughts, fears and concerns. You will definitely be supported here. I will pray for you, and I am interested in knowing how you progress. Don't beat yourself up over 3 slices of deli ham ... it will all be ok .. I just know it. Hang in there! Annie

    what protein shake

Sherry ... I too LOVE the Premier Protein/Chocolate shake. I just tried the Premier Protein Strawberries & Cream, and it's pretty good too ... but chocolate is my favorite. I also bought some Isopure Protein drinks .. they came in a variety pack of 12 bottles. I only tried one just to see what it was going to taste like. It was pretty good too, but there are a lot of choices ..so you just have to make sure you don't get something that you're not going to like. I also have a huge container of whey Isolate Protein powder, made by BODY FORTRESS. Two scoops is 60 grams of protein. I add skim milk to it and ice and blend it with my Ninja Blender. I have the chocolate, and it's good too. I was confused about what to try also. I got a list of items from my Nutritionist and that helped. Also asking questions like this here is probably one of the best ways to get information about everything. My surgery is next week ... April 30th ... my 59th birthday!!!! What a great birthday present! Good luck with finding the tastiest Protein shakes ... there are some good ones, and if you use your imagination ... some of them really do taste like a real milkshake!!! Annie
  6. Hi Everyone, This is my first post. It has been so helpful to be able to read what everyone is going through, etc. My surgery date is April 30th .... my 59th birthday! I can't think of a better birthday present. I'm having my surgery at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Dr. Thomas Magnuson is my surgeon. Anyone else having surgery that same day??? I'm curious about a lot of things, but my daughter just got in touch with me to ask if I needed to have someone with me for the first fews days after surgery. Can anyone chime in on that, and let me know what your experience was right after surgery? Thanks so much. I'm super excited ... not nervous at all. Annie
  7. Thank you Teebaby ... I appreciate the kind words. Thank you Jane13 ... that makes a lot of sense. I live alone, so I'm used to being alone, but wasn't sure if having someone around would be necessary. My daughter has twin boys, age 5, and she & hubby work fulltime .. I just don't want to burden anyone unless it's necessary. Thank you CC197823 ... and Congrats to you ... it looks like you're doing great!! I can't imagine how good it will feel to lost 63lbs ... I just want to feel better, move better, and get ride of these extra health problems. Thanks so much everyone! Good luck to us all!!! Annie
