Hunger pains newbie question
It's me-Debbydo replied to Bruce Peter's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Your not going to burst the band, however, your grazing habits need to be modified. Talk to your nutritiionist but I would say instead of food to graze try liquids first. -

Where are the happy bandsters?
It's me-Debbydo replied to tomorrowsdream's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
There is an old saying bad news get told to 11 people on average and good news to only 3. Multipy the gossip factor, you have a bunch of people focusing on the negative. You never here, OMG she just got off her two week plateau. I am a 6 month bander and have lost 65 pounds. It has been an exciting, difficult at time and emotional road. I wouldn't trade it for the world! -

It's me-Debbydo replied to lildarlin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I definitely have a sweet tooth. I'm plugging along ok. I am definitely mindful of not over indulging in sweets. for me it's chocolate! I had to send the halloween chandy with DH to work, it was a killer. -

Not that simple: Research bariatric surgeon's in your area, they will have requirements for you to meet medically even before ythe surgeon's office goes for preapproval from the insurance carrier. There are some really good thread in the archives about this, surf this site there is a wealth of information Good luck

Fall Weight Loss Challenge
It's me-Debbydo replied to StartingOver's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well the competitive side of me helped keep me in check. Thanks for the Fall challenge. I started at 198 and wanted to be 179.9 I made it to 183. Down 16 pounds in total. Not exactly where I wanted to be - but sh*#@!!!! Close enough for me. I'm in a 12-14 and that was on target. Do we have a holiday / winter challenge going yet???? I really like having a place to check in with. Good luck to you all my fellow bandsters. -
Well it's nice to have another man around the house ( no offense Jack hehe) Welcome and good luck to you John!

Very naked! in the am and in the pm going to bed. I usually do it twice to see what I get. My scale is 1-2 pounds more than the md office. I weigh myself tooo often and I think it dcontributes to my thinking on on long plateau's. What a head game.

I find myself everyday doing this. For all those who are or did serve. Thank You!!!!! Thank you for your dedication to the rest of us.

When Can I Get On The Tredmill?
It's me-Debbydo replied to BIGMAN's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Take life slllloooowwww. The process is just that a process. Check with your md but my md said I could start walking for exercise (not the casual stroll) after a few weeks. But I was told no crazy heart rate workouts for 6 weeks. You just had major surgery. The body needs time to heal. -
I have controlled hypothyroidism. I'm on synthroid and have been almost my whole life. I'm not having any problems with being banded however, I know I'm on the proper dose of meds and have been for quite some time. So weight loss is going ok. Some good weeks, some great weeks and some not so good weeks, just like everyone else, I suspect. Good luck to you.

It's me-Debbydo replied to tomorrowsdream's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey, just a quick thought. Why can't you decline medicare since you have insurance all ready. If you are still working or DH I think that maybe an option????? -
Kellie, What a great NSV - I can only image the feeling you had when your kids were cheering you on. The beginning of a whole new era.
