Hi is there any uk pre ops on the forum

Hi tia92 I too have been on this journey since march 2014 and l do understand how disheartening it feels to be waiting for a surgery date. Please dont feed into the negativity of how people judge us larger beautiful people and dont buy into it because they have their own insecurities only ours can be seen. Just focus on you and your journey and you will gain confidence by focusing day to day and seeing the small changes you are making Good luck

Struggling with pre-op weight loss
Dee56 replied to KarenLoh's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi I am at the same stage as you where l did optifast for 2 weeks and lost 10lbs but for the last 2 weeks l have struggled with weight loss. Just keep in mind we want this surgery and have come this far in our journey to give up..... keep focused dont beat yourself up we can do this -
Hi Jazziej I like your story and you are looking good. I like you have read and researched so much on gastric surgery mostly on youtube but l found some was helpful others scared me a little. I like you am worried about surgery but l know its worth it. The lsd l did was shakes of 200 cals which l purchased from the hospital called Optifast. I could have 4 sachets per day with veg x 2 daily. It started to get hard the last few days of the 2nd week trying to find different ways of making veg look and taste different and not boring. I only drink half cup coffee in the mornings l mostly drink herbal tea as l dont seem to want to drink coffee. I have not found a good protein shake yet my hospital has given me a list so l will look around as they are expensive for a quality protein shake. I hope this has helped.

Hi dhrguru I am pleased for you to be so far in your journey. Well done for the weight loss. Are you following any particular weightloss programme or just xutting down your intake? I followed the shake lsd for 2 weeks and lost 10lbs and my doc said to carry on losing weight by following any weight loss diet that works lol l am trying lol hard to watch what l eat..some days are really good some just good

Hi dhrguru Thanks for response. I have not had a pulmonary test, my doc advised me to stop smoking, which I did jan 5th.....feel so much better. My doc said me t time I see him it will be 2 weeks before my surgery, he said to continue to loose weight....which I struggle with some days.....lol. Have you been given a date yet?? And are you prepared?

Hi everyone I am new to the forum. Currently I am waiting for an op date for bypass surgery. I have been on my wls for 12 months with nhs completing assessments getting ready for surgery: psychology assessment, sleep study, pre liver shrinkage for 2 weeks, seeing dieticans, now I am doing a weekly psychology meeting on emotional eating. Is there anyone here that is at the same stage as me, if so would love to link with you.
