I have been overweight my entire life. After years of trying to diet and failing, I was finally ready to make the decision to have weightloss surgery. I had to have blood work done for my insurance discount through work. My numbers were horrible. I had about a month before I had to submit them, so I decided to go to my PCP and have the blood work redone. I ate really well and eliminated soda and everything else with sugar. My numbers were all worse. In 3 weeks my numbers had all went downhill and I was eating right and exercising. Thats when I decided to have surgery.
I met with the surgeon on Sept 23 and went through the process of support group meetings, documented diet logs, and numerous other tests. I was approved for surgery on the first attempt at the end of February and was Scheduled to have surgery on March 23. I had a 12 day liquid diet prior to the surgery. I was only allowed 4 protien drinks and sugar-free/calorie-free drinks. That was really hard for me.
Surgery was just last Monday, so I don't have much of an update yet. It all went well. I did have some pain, but nausea.
