    May Sleevers check in

Hello Everyone! It's been a while since I've logged on, hope everyone is well! I was sleeved on May 4th. My journey was for sure a bumpy one but doing much better now. I believe the last time I logged on I had posted that I was really ill, I was admitted back into the hospital because the hiatal hernia repair was too narrow and I was unable to keep anything down, I threw up so much I began to taste blood, I had a second procedure where they opened the area with a ballon so now I can eat and drink! I'm happy to report that it's been three weeks with no throwing up and I'm down 32lbs. Seems I'm at a stall as well with weight loss but I'll just keep pressing on with walking and trying to get my liquids down, who knew it would be so hard! I no longer crave rich sweets such as cake and brownies but have been told they could return. For those who did not have complications and concerned about not losing enough, I'd have to say it's probably better to lose the slower healthier route than go through what I've been through with drastic weight loss cause you can't eat or drink anything. Monday marked 6 weeks for me so I can eat regularly now. Starting weight at time that I began classes: 242 Currently: 202 Again wishing everyone well on your weight loss journey!

    Ewww this is horrible

I can relate to all the spitting, nausea, foamy throw up, slim throw up, all around throwing up. I was sleeved on May 4th, could not keep anything down. I was given a total of three banana bags and discharged on May 6th with orders of a visiting nurse for two weeks to administer 2000ml IV's. I have tried to as of yesterday to follow the full liquid diet, I ate two bites of Greek yogurt and had a horrible bout of throwing up and later on in the day I tried two bites of mashed potatoes with nothing in them but made with milk, again same thing with horrible throwing up. I know it will get better but goodness when your going through it!...... It's hard because we just don't know what our stomachs will tolerate. Today I have blended a Premier protein shake which has gone down okay. Wishing everyone well, this hurdle will pass!
  7. Hello there! No one should be on here to insult anyone considering we are all chasing the same goal. We are human and there is no way we can take years of eating how we want and now change it just like that. I commend the ones who can but for those of us who can't, don't beat yourself up about it, call it like it is and learn from the mistake and lastly do your darnedest to not go through it again. Wishing you well!
  8. Hello fellow sleevers, I was informed not to use a straw because of the possibility of swallowing air. I'll be a week out tomorrow, not able to really get anything down and think a straw would help. I won't try though.

    May 4 surgery date -

I was told they repaired the hiatal hernia. Stomach was inflamed, had to do the X-ray with barium swallow, it proved there were no leaks but liquids were going down really slow. I was given three IV bags of vitamins before I was discharged. I guess I have to allow time for everything to heal.

    May 4 surgery date -

Good Morning Everyone! I was sleeved on May 4th, had pretty bad nausea, vomiting and very bad gas pains, I was unable to keep fluids down, I was discharged on Wednesday night. I now have a visiting nurse coming out for two weeks to administer home Iv's to prevent dehydration. I'm up and walking around though, have done some light house work, the gas pains are getting better every day. I now understand what people were talking about when they described frothy saliva or burps. I'll be glad when this phase is over! Lol! Still Praying for everyone to have a smooth recovery!
