I had my second fill today. I have no idea what my cc count is in my band, my doc won't tell us that stuff! I know that I have more restriction now. I just hope it lasts. My next fill is scheduled for April 1st. I was worried about weight loss on the scale, but I lost 6 pounds in about 28 days, so I'll take it!! I'm hoping that this fill will help bump my weight loss up. I've started the Couch to 5K program so that should help also!!!

LJM, Have you tried Excedrin Tension, Aspirin Free, that helps me and it should be band friendly? I hope you feel better soon. Sorry you are feeling so crummy!! ((((Hugs)))) -

LJM, So glad to see and hear you are doing okay. I hope the swelling will go down for ya in the next few days. I was just wondering about the Peroxide and Neosporin? They wouldn't let me do that for my lapband incisions. Is that something exclusive to plastics?? -
Can anyone eat bread? I know I can't!

I can do bread, I just have to take tiny bites. The only thing I've ever had a problem with is a croissant (sp??). -
Mississippi Republican presents bill to make it illegal to feed obese people
NukeChik posted a topic in Rants & Raves
I am so upset after reading an article about a new bill that is before the house that would make it illegal for restaurants to serve obese people in Mississippi. What country do we live in now? I couldn't find the standards of what they would consider obese, but how would they enforce it? Where does it end, monitoring everything that fat people buy from the grocery store too? I'm just shocked and appalled!!! -

So glad to hear she is doing well. I've been thinking about her all day!! -
I'm an amazon so I have to have tall everything, If they made underwear and bras in tall sizes I'd probably buy those too! So, the other day Eddie Bauer was having their big end of season sale and I placed a small order. I ordered 3 new shirts in a size large (I was in XXL's prior to surgery). I ordered larges because I know they will fit me even when I'm at goal, my frame is very large! So, anyways, 2 out of 3 of the shirts already fit me

I used Memorial's system....kinda I went with Dr Ponce who does surgery at Memorial, I had mine in Dalton GA though. I was self pay, my insurance said I wasn't fat enough or sick enough to qualify. I guess I could have gained another 15 pounds, but I'm stubborn that way.... I had my surgery on Jan 7, 2008. Haven't regretted it for a minute.

Here's the information that was submitted to the FDA for the Realize band approval in the US. It states the the port is suturable. All subjects enrolled in the US clinical study were implanted with the Model 2100-X Band with titanium port. That device has been modified to the Model 2200-X Band with Velocity Injection Port. The modifications made to the Model 2100-X to make the Model 2200-X with Velocity Injection Port include: 1. Simplification of the locking mechanism by providing a buckle/tab closure on the reinforcement band; 2. A suture pre-tied to the end of the band for surgeon convenience (helps with placement of the device); Summary of Safety and Effectiveness Data P070009, REALIZE, Adjustable Gastric Band Page 5 of 35 3. Change in the manufacturing process to allow for rounding of the reinforcement band edges; 4. Port now includes a connector sleeve integrated with the locking connector; 5. The port can be attached to the fascia using either sutures or by using fasteners which are an integral component of the port. The method of attachment is dependent on the surgeon's preference. Here's the link to said doc if you would like to read it. I don't think that J&J would outright lie to the FDA. http://www.fda.gov/cdrh/pdf7/p070009b.pdf

Chell, welcome I'm also from the Chattanoga area!

Thats sooo funny, there are a million yoga classes around me and no Pilates. I really wanted to try Pilates!!! I'm actually really flexible for a fat chick:biggrin2:. I'm afraid to take a yoga class, I think I would be laughing the whole time! I'm not very good at relaxing like you are supposed to for that. I think I'm going to try the couch to 5K thing. It might mess up my minutes for the March challenge though... I don't know, I'm just gona shake my booty.:smile2:

Sounds official enough to me. Maybe we can go ahead and make a plan to increase it monthly or something as we get more svelte. I love that word, I try to use it at every open opportunity!!

I'm up for anything, but not very creative. How do we do this, a mileage in a month challenge?? I'm up for anything.

Ang, Sorry you're gettin down. This too shall pass, just climb back on the horse! Am I remembering correctly that you haven't had a fill yet? It should get a little better after you have a fill. Do you have a J&J band or a Lap-Band?? The reason I ask is because I have the J&J band and I didn't get any restriction from my first fill. I want to give you hope, but not false hope, make sense? I've been really down for the past week. I haven't lost any weight the past 2 weeks and I'm so afraid that when I go back for my second fill I will not have lost anything. I finally got my a$$ in gear a the first of the week and dusted my treadmill off. Now I haven't been able to workout all week due to tooth problems (culminated into a root canal yesterday). I actually can't wait to get back on the treadmill. This is going to be hard for us, but we can do it together!! I'm here for you whenever!! -
Georgia, I actually get mine from a Natural Foods store in downtown Chattanooga. I have not seen it at Wal-Mart or Bi-Lo (my local supermarket chain), I would say it is available at Publix (there's one opening soon around me). It hasn't made the leap to chain stores yet. Their website is really informative, Welcome to FAGE USA . Fage is just the brand name that is available to me. I would definately recommend it!! When I first bought it I tried the Total (whole milk), 2% and the 0%. I usually find that I can't stomach the fat free stuff, but I can't tell the difference with this yogurt! So 1 cup of the 0% has 120 calories, 0 g fat, 6 carbs, and 20 grams of protein. Good luck on finding it!

Embarrassed to post what I ate today:embaressed_smile:. Root canal went fine. I had never had one before so I was really worried. Opted for the nitrous:thumbup:, worth every penny. Back on track tomorrow!! Can't wait till another fill. As for the full liquid phase, I lived off yogurt and pudding! Try greek yogurt, its packed with protein and low in calories, also thicker than other yogurt so much more filling!!
-
Yesterday.... B- 2 slices cheddar cheese, 16 whole wheat crackers L- 10 grapes D- 1 cup greek yogurt, handfull granola, 1 tbsp honey, 1/2 cup watermelon Did I mention I'm getting a root canal in an hour!!
