    3 week stall :(

My surgeon warned me about the 3 week stall and said he found that many times it was due to you having too few calories. Being newly sleeved we tend to not get enough nutrition the first month due to several factors such as pain, nausea, fear of weight gain, etc and we tend to only get about 500-600 calories in our daily intake. He says that the bare minimum the human body needs for survival is 600+ calories, and when you stay below that mark, your body will go into starvation mode and will reduce its ability to lose weight as a protection measure. His advice to all his patients is to up your caloric intake to the 800 range if you can handle it.

    Dr. Altamirano

I agree with dlm77. I just had the exact same experience with Dr. A and couldn't be happier with the experience. Everyone that cringes with fear when they hear about surgery in Mexico does so out of ignorance. I was one of the those people, but research and reading calmed my fears, and eventually the experience solidified what I already knew. Mexico is where you want to go to have your procedure because of their expertise, practice, and pioneering techniques.
  3. My wife and I just stayed there and we had a wonderfully relaxing time there. It was in a great neighborhood that was convenient to everything you need, within walking distance, and it was huge too. You have plenty of room, the beds are SUPER comfortable, internet WIFI, cable, and an awesome walk in shower so you won't have to worry about post surgery soreness when bathing. Dr. A, David, German, Robert(s) and Henry will take care of all your needs and will constantly check up on you personally. No worries!
  4. Its good that the only worries I have at the moment are what I'm going to do with my enormous pants and belts.

    August 2015 Sleevers for Tijuana?

I'm having my surgery with Dr. Lopez on August 15th. My wife and I are taking a train from Atlanta to San Diego and then flying back. I've always wanted to take a cross country train trip and this seemed like a good opportunity.
