thanks for the recommendations, however I don't like either pickles or olives. Not a fan of a lot of food. I don't eat a big variety. I don't eat any foods that are mixed. Lol. I don't like the texture of many many foods. Most of my foods are very simple.

Thanks for the response. No chips are not a trigger food for me. ????just an occasional something with a bit more salty flavor. I bought barbecue and just tried them. They are wonderful. May go back for some sour creme and onion though.

Never heard of that before. I chew gum. Never had a problem.????

Here is what I think every single time I think about eating something. 1. Is it something that will help me achieve my Protein goal for the day. If not....I don't eat it. 2. I ask myself....is this good for me? 3. Am I eating because I am thirsty? I try to drink some Water first, it helps because the. I have to wait at least a half hour before I eat something. 4. I tell myself it's only going to taste good for 10 seconds. That's what's keeps me on track.

miller1109 replied to CowgirlJane's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have lost 150 pounds and feel the same way. Those water bottles are heavy. Sad in a way. But grateful for all our success'. Love the new size 2 me! And the clothes...can't quit spending money. Going on a shopping trip to Chicago this weekend. That's going to put a dent in the ole pocket book. Congrats everyone on your success! -
9 months post op. Freezing ALL the time. I believe this is my new life. An electric blanket on my bed, an electric throw on my chair a heater under my desk at work, all while my husband has the AC on. Lol.

I needed two weeks.

How many people have got the surgery because of your success?
miller1109 replied to pinkbunies's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I know a couple people. They think it's easy. Lol. I don't want to discourage them and tell them it's not the easy way out. And I tell them to go to support groups and join this forum to hear that EVERYONES experience with this surgery is different. Some go through it like a walk in the park and others.....well not so much. -
I have no regrets but for me it wasnt and isn't easy. Everyone goes through this surgery differently. Don't get me wrong I am successful! I made and surpassed my goal in 6 months. I wouldn't change anything about the process I have been through. I am nine months out from surgery and I have to say it gets a little easier. Maybe what I want to say is it gets more "routine". Drink your fluids, get your protein in, exercise and you to will succeed.

New to journey some questions
miller1109 replied to lisa0617's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
They said mine was supposed to be two hours ended up like and hour and a half. A little bit of discussion and I had to take a couple of written tests. I am also in Michigan. -
How do you stop losing weight is a legitimate question and concern as many others had no problem stopping the weight loss. I have. My first goal was to lose 80 pounds I am very tall and wanted to be 160. I am now at 133, so I have lost 142 pounds. I kept lowering my goal, and it is a daily struggle to not continue the mindset of losing the weight but trying to maintain where I am. quite happy with the results. But I have to say that quit losing weight has been much harder than I would have imagined. Don't get me wrong, I would do it all over again. As this is a small problem compared to being overweight. I am a size 4 now the smallest I have ever been in my adult life. And buying clothes is quite simply just awesome.

I work for a urologist and test high protein can contribute to having kidney stones. One of my biggest fears is to get a stone. I really don't want my doctors up in my business. Ugh!
-
I haven't found one I like that is worth the calories vs protein and I have spent a boat load of money on them.

It's not the failure that kills you...it's the giving up that will!

Yay! Better late then never! Welcome back! -
I didn't lose any hair to speak of but I did take precautions. I still take biotin, I use Nioxin shampoo, conditioner and scalp treatment. I only wash my hair every other day. I still colored it though. I had to. Lol. But I didn't want to take any chances. I made sure I got in all my protein, water and vitamins also. I am 8 months out and have been at goal for 2 months.

Yay! It's a great feeling!

Blue Cross Blue Shield Battle
miller1109 replied to kanknrysmom1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was approved (after all my requirements) within 24 hours. Surgery was scheduled the Next week. I have BCBS of Michigan. It may deond on what state you live in. And I lost 60 pounds before surgery. My surgeon reported my starting BMI not the one after the six months. So even though I was below the required insurance requirement it didn't matter because they don't use that one. Which BCBS do you have? -
I am 8 months out and just started drinking coffee. My NUT said 1-2 cups a day is Ok

I thought I was at goal 25 pounds ago so I bought myself two Miss Me pair of jeans from the buckle. Size 30 which is a 9/10 Well those are now too big. So I went into The Buckle to see what size I am now. I grabbed some 28 waist which is a 5/6. The salesman said what size do you have there? I told him 28 and he said oh I think those are going to be too big. I had held them up and thought there is no way I am fitting into these. I laughed at the salesman and said, do they train you to say things like that to flatter women so they will buy this stuff? He snickered and said no, but the 28's are going to be too big. I said yeah, right! I out them on and THEY WERE TOO BIG! I now wear a 27 XTRA LONG. I didn't buy any that day as I couldn't find any I liked. But believe me I came home and ordered three pair!

How many of you continue the shakes in your diet after many months after surgery?
miller1109 replied to bellabill's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I will probably supplement with a protein shake a day for the rest of my life. I don't mind it at all.
