  1. Well it's been a year and 154.9 pounds later I am a size 0 or 2, a small sometimes extra small. ME a small......unbelievable! This surgery is the best thing I ever did for myself. Not easy by any stretch of the imagination but well worth every second.

    Changing mind during the process

I got serious right away during my 6 month wait that the insurance required. I lost 60 pounds and still went through with it. I knew I could do it on my own too, but always had trouble keeping it off. I met my goal in 6 months and Aug 25th was my one year anniversary. I don't have a single regret. Not one!
  3. My first couple weeks were rough. My stubbornness and determination that I put myself through surgery to lose weight kept me going! Good luck and it does get better! Thank you! It's been a loooonnngggg road, but when I look back the year went so fast.
  4. You WILL make it! It's not an easy thing but you will make it! Good luck!

    Omeprazole?

It was prescribed but I didn't need it so I didn't take it.

    EGD biopsy?

My surgeon said he always does a biopsy. Don't fret! Maybe yours does too!
  7. I weigh every single day! Keeps me accountable, at first the little fluctuations drove me crazy but I have learned to deal with it. If I didn't get on the scale for a week and then my body decided to hold a bunch of extra water I would have to wait another week to see it come off. Everyday weighing is the answer for me.....for the rest of my life. If I was not committed to weighing everyday it would be easy for me to slide back into old habits.

Afraid I'll gain the weight back...

I have the fear every day. I have days I feel fat. Lol. I am 5' 9 and weigh 128. I know I am not fat. But I fear it every single day. Which is why I weigh every day. I will always weigh every day. I can tell by how loose my rings are if I am retaining water. I have it down to a science. But I still have cravings. I am still hungry a good amount of the time. I think I have trained myself on how much to eat. I weigh my food out and track in my fitness pal. The fear is real. And it's scary. And I don't want to gain any weight back. I will be one year out on August 25th. I keep thinking last year at this time I was on liquids only....preparing for my surgery. Oh how time flies.

    What's For Dinner?

My favorite easy dinner is ground turkey with taco seasoning. I use baked tostititos and add some lowest shredded cheese. I cook a bunch up at once and it only needs to heat about one minute in the microwave. Easy and tastes so good.

    Prayers needed please

Sending prayers for both of you. When we gather in prayer He hears us. God bless your family.
  11. Ok I have heard so many different stories...... How many ounces can you eat before you feel your restriction? I can eat about 8 ounces of baked fish. I can eat 5 ounces of ground turkey and maybe 5 ounces of steak or chops. Chicken will vary if it's white meat or dark meat. I just don't know. Lol. Some days I feel I can eat more than others and SOME days I just feel like I am starving, And I get all my water in too. Just curious to see what everyone else can eat at this point. Thanks!
  12. We are visiting in Chicago and went to the vitamin store they had small bags of potato chips barbecue and other flavors and they have 21 grams of protein and 5 carbs and 120 calories anyone ever try them? I am at goal for 5 months now just looking for something crispy and has some salt since my doctor wants me to add salt into my diet because my blood pressure is running low. Just curious.
  13. Just wondering in case I ever need it what the 5:2 pouch test or sleeve reset or whatever you call it is? And how it's done?
  14. I didn't see a link. But do you do that forever? I am at goal and maintaining but I want to know that if I do need to do something in the future there is something I can do. I do no wine no cookie day everyday. Lol. If you have the link to the video could you post it for me? Thank you.

Deciding to keep my sleeve quiet....

My family and a few co workers know. His family if I told his mom I am sure one of you would have have are about it! Lol. She calls every single person she knows when she has "news" to share and then they call all of their friends who in turn call all of their friends.....you know how it goes. My husband wanted me to tell her I said absolutely NOT!

    Lost my mind!

I am eleven months post op and it literally Pisses me off when my husband eats the healthy snacks and then chooses to go ahead and eat unhealthy ones after "mine" are all gone. Dang it! He eats the nuts and then eats Cheetos. And he doesn't just eat a handful of nuts he will eat the whole dang container. Or I measure out something and he takes something off my plate. Keep your fingers to yourself I will tell him and he says, you can't eat that much anyway. That's not the point I had it measured. Lol so as I sit and type this I realize I still have those little angry moments even after being out 11 months. Sounds ridiculous as I type it but it's true.

    I feel so guilty

I think we had our surgery around the same time. It is a new learning experience. I will get it and I will quit beating myself up. I have maintained now for 2 weeks, but I am well below my goal weight. I will not be buying smaller clothes. I'm have too many cute clothes to be getting any smaller. Lol. Like I EVER thought that would be a problem. It's hard getting off my very regimented schedule of eating. But I am slowly but surely learning.

    I feel so guilty

Most days I do get all my fluid in. When I am at my desk at work its easy. It's at home where I never sit still is when it's harder to get fluids in. But for the most part I do good with that. Every day since I started this journey I have stayed with the course. I weighed this morning and didn't gain or lose. So all in all I did good. It's hard for me not to see the scale drop, I am still working through all this. My NUT told me to give myself a 5 pound variance but I don't even want to gain an ounce (as my husband says) I think he is getting a little irritated with me.

    I feel so guilty

Thanks. I know I need to eat a little more so I quit losing. The problem is making the right choices. I eat more fruit now and for Snacks I will eat nuts. This maintenance thing is kicking my butt. Mentally exhausting. I need to get it together so everyday doesn't seem to be such a struggle.
  23. I too feel like it's a struggle every day. I haven't done the regain thing. But it scares the crap out of me. This is hard!
