I went to an urgent care clinic in my town, told the doc my situation, and he wrote the letter after my blood work came back ok. He said it would benefit me more to have the surgery than to not and be overweight.

Be honest - does anyone regret the surgery?

Thank you for your response! @@MrsG'journey glad to know I'm not alone! I do see a pattern of this mental hunger falling off gradually... And honestly I do think that's what it is, mental! I want to eat with, and like everybody else. But that's how I ended up overweight in the first place. So many people say food is a drug and I'm the addict trying to quit cold turkey and that's a tough job to do. I just have to keep on keeping on... No turning back now!! Lol so it's up to me to make the best of it! Good luck to you, if I wasn't on this site I probably would have lost my mind by now! So thankful for all the feedback! -

It's Sunday morning, I am 4 days post-op and my husband is downstairs fixing breakfast for my kids and it smells delicious. These four days have been the hardest days of my life I believe. So I have lots of regrets right now. Hoping when I get to purées I will feel better, but right now I had rather be fat and be able to eat than be skinny and not be able to eat.... It sucks so far I just miss food badly. -
How long did you have this feeling before it "passed" lol And do you think it was from something you ate?
-
I was sleeved Wednesday 4/8 and today is the best I've felt so far, with that said, I still don't feel "good". My tummy is sore, but not the incisions thank goodness! I've been drinking Water and juice, the g2 Gatorade went right back out unfortunately... Tried some cream of tomato Soup (probably not the best choice bc of the acid) and now I feel like I have to burp and can't!!! It sucks! I just want to take a bite of something, anything!!!! #thistooshallpass we'll see!
-
It was really hard for me too! I'm on the pre-op diet, surgery is 4/8... And I had to make the potato salad today! Ugh... Talk about mustering up some willpower!!!!! Good luck to you, hope today went smoothly!
-
I also got egg drop soup today and strained everything out! It was good ????
-
This liquid diet is hard, really hard!!! Anybody else with me? Lol But I've not cheated!! I really want cheese or something crunchy bad! But I'm staying strong! ???? 4 days to go!!!!!
-
It sets in when you start your pre-op. I don't think I gave it a second thought until I realized I COULDN'T eat! Then things got real ???? I'm going into day 4 and I'm starving! But it will be worth it! Good luck! Be strong, because it's hard so far! Just have to look at our healthy goals!!! #wegotthis ????

@@CanyonBaby Thanks for your response, because some of us "newbies" haven't had the opportunity to learn everything about this site yet and may post things that have been previously posted....... GOD FORBID I do love this site and the advice I've been given from it! I'm also starting to see the ones who are judgmental and "picky" about what you post! blah blah blah But I guess we all have the right to voice our opinion? Don't we? LOL
-
I probably already know the answer to this question, as it wasn't listed as an example of things I can have on my diet. But, there were only suggestions listed. Does anybody else know if cheese, preferably weight watchers jalapeno' string cheese, is allowed on your pre-op? I'm supposed to be eating creamy Soups, yogurt, Jello, broths, etc. Just curious if anyone ate cheese! LOL

April Sleevers! Where are you at in your Journey?
Casey235 replied to CandyCrushVSG's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@jenga I am on day two and I said in a post earlier that the unjury chocolate with the Silk vanilla milk was my favorite, but all day after I drank it I've felt very shaky and just not right! I don't know why, or if it was the Unjury or if it is something else. Ive been checking my sugar regularly and its fine! So enjoy the raw veggies! Oh my how I wish I could chew on something!!! Good Luck to you!!! -

Day 2 of liquid diet! I'm just really tired! Went home yesterday and took a nap after work just so I would avoid the fridge. But... I drove my teenage son to Burger King because he loves that place, and I did great! No cheating, not even 1 fry!!!! To me that's a victory! Trying many different Protein shakes and powders just to see which ones I like and so far my favorite is the unjury chocolate mixed with almond milk! Tastes just like chocolate milk!!! Good Luck to all of you!!! I just to have to make it through Easter Sunday with my family now!!! #igotthis -
I absolutely loathe exercise and have never stuck with it for a long period of time in the past. Does everyone exercise? And was it hard to find a plan and stick to it? I'm more terrified of that than not eating!!!

I never thought I'd be saying this...

I start my pre-op liquid diet tomorrow, and I feel same way as you guys! I guess I'm soooo used to just eating what I want, when I want, that I'm scared of not being able to control my self! LOL But I WILL control myself because I know skinny will feel so much better than ANY food will taste! Good Luck! -
Hi, just curious about taking Cymbalta... I take it as well but in the generic form, which is a capsule. My Doc said I could still take it even the day of my surgery. It's just a normal size capsule but I'm still concerned about swallowing it! Did you have this problem or did you switch to liquid (if they make liquid)?

You look great! -
Glad you asked this question! I might have been asking it myself in a couple of weeks if I didn't see your post!!! I've only been on this site a few weeks and there are so many rude people on here (Babbs just to name one)... But thank goodness there are more positive people that negative! Lol If you can't say something in a nice way... Don't let your little fingers type in a response.... Duh... We are all scared, and want good results and a good experience!!! So I hope your NUT can help you when you see her! I've been given a strict diet plan for before (start tomorrow) and after. What to and not to eat for seven weeks post, so it's clear to me what I have to do! I'm not much of a meat person anyway but I'm gonna hold off of meats and salads until 7-8 weeks out! Personal preference! But I'm gonna try to stick to it! Good luck and ignore the #haters they aren't perfect either!!! @@carolinacrumb88

@@MrsSugarbabe Thanks you for the suggestions! I really do want to try to avoid fast food because I know it is not the healthiest for me! I like your mention of always keeping things on hand so you will not have any other option but fast food! I've also seen where others also eat Wendys Chili! I'll have to try it! I probably could also live off of Chic-Fil-A's chicken soup, it's yummy!!!! ))

@AlexBrecher Thank you for your response! I've gotten a lot of great feedback from this post! As you read I'm sure, I'm scared! But I'm sure we all were!!! I'm looking forward to this journey and so far I believe this site will be good for helping me along, holding me accountable, and much more! Most everyone gives support that I have yet to find in others who have not had WLS! (friends, family) So thank you again

I would love some suggestions too!!!

@theCandidate I totally agree with you!!! ????

@@Babbs yes, how dare them put down someone who isn't physically able to exercise all the time, AND is just getting started in this life change!!! I've seen that on this site numerous times. If it doesn't pertain to you.... Why give your two cents? Just move on along....
