9days PostOp: Not hungry...barely eating
jhowell replied to ladycook9713's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also take a half a cup of fat free cool whip and fold in a scoop of my protein powder and put it in the freezer. Once it's frozen again it's like eating ice cream. -

Isopure is really good. I use the creamy vanilla. And I put PB2 in it. There's a new milk brand called FairLife. It's refortified and has roughly 13g of protein. -
I was sleeved on 3/16 and would love to become friends with people in my area.

I had mine at Lahey.

Where did you have your surgery?
-
Oh good! Not the only one. I had my follow up appointment and ended up getting a CT Scan because I had left sided abdominal pain. Everything came back fine. Back to work on Tuesday.

Since having surgery on 3/16 I have been having the weirdest most vivid dreams. Prior to that I hardly ever remembered my dreams. Anyone else ?

Surgery 3-16-15 an starving
jhowell replied to stephnichols's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm baffled that which ever bariatric program you went through didn't have you attend classes on nutrition both post and pre op. Just because mashed potatoes is puréed doesn't mean your stomach is healed enough to digest it. Different foods do different things in your stomach once it starts digesting. That is why they give you strict phases to follow after surgery. I was sleeved on 3/16 as well. I would kill to be able to chew something, but I know I'm not completely healed. You are jeopardizing your health by just eating whatever, and you could end up ripping the sutures/staples out of your stomach causing a leak. Generally you have a follow up appointment 2 weeks out to check on everything. I'd see what they have to say. -
I wouldn't weigh yourself right away. You are still filled with gas, and IV fluids. I weighed 6lbs more 2 days post op.

I was sleeved 3/16/15 too. I have my follow up appointment tomorrow. I've had no issues until last night when that dreaded left sided pain started.

Anybody have Dr. Dmitry Nepomnayshy - Lahey - For Sleeve?
jhowell replied to Sue Magoo's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I was sleeved by him on 3/16. Lahey has a fantastic bariatric team. -
I take these: I take 4 of them a day.

I was sleeved on 3/16 and I'm having a hard time with such the limited amount of food choices in my full liquids phase. 1 week down, 3 to go. Today I tried using beef broth instead of water for my cream of wheat. Not bad. Reminded me of mashed potatoes with gravy.

What are your food stages?
jhowell replied to Riz2006's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was similar. Nothing to eat or drink after surgery. The following day in the hospital I was allowed tea, vegetable broth and apple juice. Weeks 1-4 full liquids (Protein drinks, pudding, apple sauce...etc) Weeks 5-6 cheese, cottage cheese, eggs Weeks 7 I can start adding vegetables and soft meats like chicken, turkey or seafood.
