    1 month post-op sadness

The very same thing happened to me. My first month out I was devastated as I lost nothing for 2 weeks (weeks 3-5) after losing 20 lbs. the first two weeks. However, the pounds started coming off again, slowly at first and then right back on track. I am now just past my 2 month mark (week 9) and am very happy with my weight loss per week. Take a deep breath and know that we have all been there.
  2. I am only six weeks out and able to eat almost anything. There are a few triggers and I haven't tried all my old favorites, but it scares me that I have so few issues with food. I am constantly worried that I will go back to my old habits and food choices without even realizing it. I am grateful that I do not have constant issues with my new pouch, but I had thought that there would be more stomach restraint, at least for the first six months. Does anyone have suggestions on how to stick with the program when there are too few problems? I really want to succeed long term with this surgery!

    Lunch Ideas

I like the Sunkist Tuna pouches 2.7oz (I believe) and Walmart usually has lots of different flavors. I also like cottage cheese (with a little Hidden Valley Ranch powder from costco mixed in), canned chicken or turkey slices with goat cheese (rolled up). I bought the 4oz Ziploc containers and use that as my guide.
  4. My helpful hint: Try not to stock up on protein shakes before surgery. Prior to my surgery I stocked up on lots of Unjury Protein shake mixes, but have hardly used them. However, finding a good unflavored protein powder is essential. As for the flavored protein drinks, I found the Premier Protein works better for me as they are already mixed and ready to go. Also, the amount of money I have saved on food is unbelievable! A can of lentil soup (lasts for 2-3 meals), pouches of tuna, cottage cheese and ground turkey are my mainstays as of week 3 and those are cheap! At least cheaper than my oversized portions (or double portions) of food prior to surgery. I bought 4 oz. ziplock containers and use those for my lunches or meals on the go.
