    Online dating

I was having moderate success with eHarmony. I was getting lots of matches daily that lived in my area. Now all of my matches are in Canada. I'm quite fond of Canada but I don't want to deal with a relationship in another country. Anybody else experience this where the location of matches suddenly changes?

    liquid preop diet

There exist a dark chocolate almond milk? Sounds fantastic. I always buy unsweetened vanilla almond milk. (30 calories) I picked it up at Walmart and it is fantastic. It has more calories and sugar than the light Silk so that is why I only use an ounce to give it some flavor. I was told there was a light chocolate Silk but I can only find light vanilla Silk.

    liquid preop diet

I use almond milk and it's a lot better than skim milk. I'm supposed to have three 8 oz shakes a day. I take 7 oz of light vanilla Silk almond milk and 1 oz of dark chocolate almond milk and mix with my chocolate powder.

    Anxious! How long?

It's going to depend on your insurance. My first appointment was April 25th and my surgery date is June 22nd. I got the 6 month preop diet waived due to having a BMI over 50.
  5. First day and one shake down and so far so good. My nutritionist said I could mix the Protein powder with light almond silk. I have chocolate powder and the shake doesn't taste bad at all. Not really feeling hungry yet. We'll see where we are at in two weeks.
  6. I don't start my liquid diet until tomorrow and I already have headaches.
  7. A lot of people get surgery to get down to a 30 BMI.
  8. I haven't had my surgery but I started at 473 and am at 396 and I went from a 60 to a 54 waist in about three months. One thing I'm starting to do with pants is taking the waist line and making a pinch in the waist of about and inch and sewing it together. With a belt on you can't even notice. May be a little baggy around the thighs but I normally buy pants after dropping two sizes. My next paid will be a 50 and then 46 etc.
  9. Mine is June 22nd at St John in Detroit.
  10. I have BCBS of Michigan. I was worried about this as well. My starting BMI was like 50.2 and I lost quite a bit of weight. I called BCBS and they actually aren't that specific in their policy coverage. I had them send me the coverage and it just says you if your BMI is over 50 the 6 month diet is weighed. Nothing more specific. The rep at BCBS even put me on hold while she checked with her manager. They agreed the policy isn't specific and felt as long as it was at 50 when you were recommended for insurance you would be fine. I figured it was vague enough to fight if they denied it. I just got my first insurance statement post-surgery (it was for the surgical anesthetic) and they paid everything but my $20 co-pay. Sorry I have nothing more definitive, but I think you should be ok. You might want to call them yourself to see if your answer matches the one I got. That's basically what I got. They mailed me the requirements but it's not specific on what weight is used for BMI. I figured since I'm already approved I should be good but I don't want surprises.
  11. Anyone have experience with Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Michigan? I had the 6 month diet waived because I was over 50 BMI. I got approval and have a surgery date scheduled. I have lost weight faster than I expected and am certain I will be under 50 BMI by surgery time. Is BCBSM going to yank my approval at surgery date? Will I still have surgery and they decide not to pay and I'm stuck with the bill?
  12. I only average one bowel movement a week. I talked to my doctor about it and she said not to worry about frequency but the ease of it, consistency etc. Anyways, am I going to be expected to have a bowel movement right after surgery since it's really not the norm for me?

Guys who started over 400 lbs.

No longer a member of this club. Had a little extra time this week so I upped my exercise from 60 minutes a day to 90 minutes. Lost over 8 pounds this week. My goal was to be under 400 in time for surgery. I haven't even started the liquid diet yet and my surgery is still a month away and I'm under by the slimmest of margins.
  14. I haven't had my surgery yet but I'm following these threads because mine is coming soon on June 22nd. I am wondering what are foamies? Is this like rabies or something?
  15. Not going to lie, I never thought about this. I never used them, and not sure if they work, but Amazon sells bidets for about $30. They hook into your toilet's Water supply and mount under the toilet seat. Other than that, I'm not sure. I would rather wear Depends than have someone clean me.

    Any Michigan Peeps?

I'm from the Detroit area. My surgery is scheduled for June 22nd with Dr Hawasli. First appointment was April 25th. Got my insurance approval last week. Seems to be a busy surgeon so that's why we have to wait 6 weeks to get to surgery. Since my BMI is over 50, the supervised diet requirement is waived.
  17. This is something I'm concerned about. My insurance requires a 6 month supervised diet but it's waived if your BMI is over 50. My BMI is over 50 and I was approved and got a surgery date. I have been losing a lot and haven't even started my liquid diet yet. I'm projecting to be right at 50 at the time of surgery so I hope that doesn't screw anything up if I fall to 49 at the time of surgery.

I am no longer friends with the person at the drive thru at Taco Bell.

    Need a Scale?

I own the XL-700 as well. Great scale. I needed a scale that went past 400 pounds. There were a few that did but there was always one problem. They were too narrow. They were still designed for thinner people who aren't wide. I was always teetering on the scale. The Xl-700 is very wide so it's easy to get more accurate weights. I don't just recommend it for someone that needs it to go to 700 pounds, but most people who are 400+ due to it's width.
  20. I didn't need a sleep study for this surgery but I did need a sleep study in the past. My cardiologist wanted me to have one but she couldn't order one. My insurance wanted it order from a pulmonary specialists so she set up with one who ordered it and insurance covered it.

    Will loose skin happen ?

Loose skin can happen with any weight loss and not just surgery. Age should help but when you are going to lose 200 pounds, I would expect some loose skin.

OK... so be honest with me...

I have lost 70 pounds so far and have noticed more useable length. I read that for every 30-50 pounds lost, you will gain a visible inch. After losing 70 pounds, I would say that is true. Most overweight men get a condition called buried penis. If I take the fat pad above my penis and pull it back, I can notice some more length. Not only does the fat cover it, but it also pulls it back inside of you. There are surgical procedures to fix it. I'm going to weight till I lose weight and have skin surgery before I determine if that is necessary. Don't have before or after pics. I feel the pic of the cock posted earlier was good enough.

Guys who started over 400 lbs.

Got the insurance approval today and set a surgery date. June 7th I meet with the nutritionist. June 13th I have an endoscopy. June 22nd is the surgery. I'm currently down to 409. I've been averaging about 3 to 4 pounds a week. At this rate, I'll be easily under 400 for surgery. The liquid diet starts after the June 7th visit. I'm assuming I'll lose even more on that diet. Would be nice to be at about 380 at the time of surgery. Been getting my 60 minutes of cardio in a day. Was able to get off blood pressure pills and have noticed an improvement in my sleep apnea. That will hopefully reduce the risk of surgery. They tell I should lose 100 pounds in the first 6 months after surgery. That should take me under 300. Haven't been under 300 since around 2009. If all goes well, I could be under 250 a year from now.
  24. Here's another link to that study. https://authoritynutrition.com/why-is-diet-soda-bad-for-you/ Take a look at the last paragraph after they try to convince you death is imminent when drinking diet pop. "Many of the studies above are so-called epidemiological studies, which can not prove that diet drinks caused anything. Such studies can only show an association. Whether diet soda can cause harm or not has yet to be proven in controlled trials."
