What's your average weightloss for 6 months?
sgc replied to Red_lips_and_confidence's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's going to depend how much you had to lose to start with and whether you are male or female. I had my surgery June 22nd so this is exactly 6 months and I'm down 120 pounds. -
I think you will be fine with just the sleeve. I first went to my doctor and weighed in at 473 in February of 2015. I had the surgery June of 2016 at 389 and now currently weigh 273 so I have hit the 200 pounds lost mark.

Yea in one meal. Before I could eat two or three full boxes.

How soon post-op did you start having Coke Zero? Does it cause you any discomfort at all? I was a huge diet coke drinker pre-op, and I miss it. I'm not planning to bring it back in the short-term, but I am hoping I can a little bit further down the road. I started back up on it about 5 weeks post op when I started on solids. I have no discomfort. Only time I had discomfort was when I decided to have some right after a meal. Had about 15 seconds of discomfort then I belched and the discomfort was gone.

I still drink as much Coke Zero now as before the surgery. Almost 200 lost pounds later, I don't have any intentions of quitting anytime soon.

Hello! Do you mind sharing your food plan and exercise routine? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App For Breakfast Monday through Friday I have a Premier Protein shake lunch Monday through Friday I buy a package of Oscar Meyer carving board ham and turkey and divide them into five baggies for the week dinner Monday, Wednesday and Friday is two chicken tenderloins. I dip them in an egg and breadcrumbs and fry them with some extra virgin olive oil. Dinner Tuesday is breaded shrimp, usually 6 shrimp, and dinner Thursday is breaded cod, two pieces but they are small pieces. I buy the shrimp and fish frozen at Sam's Club. Saturday is a bit of a wild card. I go a little off course and eat something not totally healthy. Only one meal though. Typically it is two breakfast burritos at McDonalds. (They still have 13 grams of protein a piece) Dinner is up in the air. Usually chicken of some sort. Sunday I'm back to the Protein Shake and lunch meat and then I make a little Pasta. I get the Creamette 150 Penne. Usually eat about half of a 10 ounce box with a little can of tomato sauce. Exercise is mostly bike riding. I really do need to start weight training. I ride for 30 minutes before work. I also have the luxury of working from home so I get on my bike for 30 minutes during lunch and if I have time, I may even go for another 30 minutes before bed. So far my stalls have only been when I lose only 3 pounds in a week. If I do some other activities in the week, I can get up in the 7 pound range but I have been consistently around 4-5 pounds per week. Now take into consideration I started at well over 400 pounds so losing 5-7 pounds is nothing at that weight. I am down into the 270's now and just lost 6 pounds this past week but I was pretty active working on remodeling my house.

I'm 6 months out and haven't had a single stall yet. My weight loss can range anywhere from 3 pounds to one time losing 9 pounds in a week. I eat the same exact things every week and do the same exact exercise every week. for instance every Monday I eat the same thing, Tuesday the same, etc. It's a formula I know works and stick to it. Maybe that is how I avoided stalls? Even when I lose 3 pounds a week after losing 6, I just stick to the routine. I guess my point is to find a routine that works and stick with it even if you don't lose as much as you would like a certain week.

I felt well enough to unpack about 3 days after surgery. For awhile I began to wonder if I even had it.

I have a job interview and of course I don't have properly fitting dress pants. For the first time in about 10 years, I was able to walk into Walmart and buy a pair of dress pants that fit perfectly. I was also able to buy a belt as well. There's a lot of small things normal sized people take for granted. Also getting down near 280. About 10-12 more pounds and I will have a total of 200 pounds lost.

Gerds, gallbladder, anemia, and osteoporosis
sgc replied to sugarbear234's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I had GERD before getting the sleeve and haven't had it since the sleeve. My GERD was more likely caused by a hiatal hernia that was repaired during surgery. -
Had my surgery June 22nd at 389 and am now 289. Just realized it is an even 100.

She did mention about doing something else and said she would get back with me and never did. I don't know if she lost interest or is waiting for me or what. I'm nervous since we work at the same place. She may at best think this is just a social interaction where I'm thinking more than that.

The play thing kind of fell through as tickets were sold out pretty quickly. She really hasn't talked much about doing anything else. I'm really not sure what to do. She does share some things on Facebook about finding love. She has over 800 friends who knows if she is posting them for me or someone else. I still can't get past the fact of why me. She is so outgoing and bubbly and makes friends with everyone and I'm quiet and not outgoing. I can't believe she wouldn't have a boyfriend.

Anyone "loose weight" in the eye area?
sgc replied to janedoe92's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I did. Had to get new glasses. One day at work and I bent over to raise a toilet seat and my glasses fell off my face and into the toilet. I was going to put them on my face again so it was time for new glasses. -
Weighed in at 297 today so I'm finally under 300. I seemed to go through the 300's pretty fast. I was over 400 pounds as recently as June. I am started to notice some loose skin even at nearly 300 pounds. I also still have a lot of bulging veins in my legs. Do these eventually go away?

I like red meat but I keep getting gout so I cut it out to try to help reduce my gout.

I'm not sure if she saw me on eHarmony or not. At the time, I didn't have any pictures and didn't completely fill out my profile since I was just looking around. Not sure what exactly it is she drew. She's Hispanic and it appears to be a more Spanish type thing. It's colorful with a lot of fish. Best way I could describe it is, I would expect to see a sculpture of it somewhere in Miami. Similar to the sculpture the Miami Marlins have in their stadium. Now that I look at the picture, I see she dated in November 13th 2015 (Didn't think it was that long ago). I searched my email and noticed we were matched on November 8th 2015. Maybe she did see my profile after all? I notice these coincidences like her insinuating she has a crush after she talked me and posted it on Facebook knowing I can see it.

Haven't had it yet. She invited me to play this month. I'm not very perceptive so I could be misreading this. I know she's single and this doesn't seem like something a single woman would ask a single guy to go to. I don't understand why me though. She's so outgoing and is friends with everyone at work. She knows obviously I have lost a lot of weight. She's always been friendly towards me. A while back she was at my desk and commented about how I had nothing on my walls so she drew me a picture. Don't know what it is but it is nice. Maybe it's common place for women to do that just because. We are also friends on Facebook and after she invited she posted a video to her wall that had some kid singing about having a crush on you. My concern is she may not have the same intentions as I do and I may look like a fool.

Vet advice on permanent changes
sgc replied to 2ndSpring's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a set meal for each day of the week. Today is chicken night. Yesterday was fish. Breakfast and lunch are the same each day. It's a rigid schedule but I don't have to make choices. I already made the choices. -
Why does anybody get bent out of shape for what strangers on a forum do?

Instead of finding a woman who likes cats, I'm just going to get a female cat. At least I'm not terrified to approach a cat.
-
I figured I would bump my old thread. About a year ago, I noticed a woman I work with was on eHarmony. At the time I decided not to approach it. I always liked her and we seemed to get along well. Fast forward to today and I think she just asked me out. I'm not really perceptive so maybe it's just a social thing. She obviously knows I lost a lot of weight so it doesn't appear that scared her off. She was always nice to me and would talk to me when I was big and I always felt she was in to me but again I'm not a perceptive person. I accepted her offer. Even if it is just a social thing, I guess it wouldn't hurt to have female friends. I'm actually not sure how I would know if she is expecting this to be a romantic thing or if she is waiting for me to take it up a level? Good thing is, we both have work from home jobs so if it doesn't end well, we never have to see each other again.

Every time I read one of these things about what women want, the more I realize I don't have the necessary skills. I may just get a dog or cat.

Has anyone here had issues with Kidney Stones or Gallstones post surgery
sgc replied to BigTink2LilTink's topic in The Guys’ Room
I had gallstones and the symptoms you described are not what I had. Mine was severe abdominal pain that was initially diagnosed as indigestion. Pain was more central and not to the side and didn't affect urination.
