    Not telling people at work...

I chose not to tell work. I'm lucky that my company is large enough to outsource Short Term Disability. There were some questions and comments wondering if I was ok. I just kept saying "it's something I need to take care of." After 3 weeks gone, I did get comments about weight lost. I was gracious and said that I'm working very hard because of my brother's wedding in January.

    Anyone else backed up?

Just make sure you can have muffins! I can't yet at 4 weeks out. Water, walking and miralax are what helped me!!

    Anyone near Madison Wisconsin?

Hey! I'm in Madison and had surgery in August. What's up?
  5. Today is my 4 week surgeriversary. Down 20 pounds!

  6. I think I had my first "frothing" episode yesterday. It was from the egg white substitute in the containers. Won't be doing that again for a while. I 've done ok with regular eggs!

    Stairs after surgery?

Hey there! I went home alone and was fine. I was able to do stairs, but felt a little "winded" after. I took it slow, but it wasn't an issue. I was in decent shape beforehand (stairs were easy). As far as being alone, I made sure that I had all my vitamins and meds that I needed before I went into the hospital (or get it from the hospital pharmacy - rx for pain med). I wrote down when I did things like take meds, vitamins, water, etc. Just to help in case I was groggy.

    Damn you, refried beans!

Hmm, not sure! Definitely check in with your doctor. I was eating refried beans by 4th day post op without issues. I know everyone is different! Sorry I don't have better advice. Are you getting at least 64 oz of water in?
  13. Hey there. I had RNY and thought the same thing... How does everyone else do this? I empty the actigall into a tiny bit of SF pudding and it still tastes bitter, but it works for me. I asked if I could take it whole and my team said likely after the 6 week appointment. I acidentally dropped a capsule into Water and I was shocked at how fast the capsule dissolved. I switched to pantoprazole and it's a very tiny pill that's a PIP similar to prilosec (omeprazole). I was able to take the prilosec originally; it's a tiny tablet. Do what your team says, but my team said no larger than a pencil eraser. BTW, I switched to pantoprazole because my insurance didn't cover the prilosec since it is available OTC. Good luck and check in with your doctor!

    Anyone else backed up?

@@Djmohr I tried doing miralax with a protein shake (not RTD) and it turned out clumpy and gross. Do you usually use miralax with water?

    Feeling Tired all The Time

Hey! You're not alone. I'm 3 wks post-op and I'm feeling it too! My goals right now are water, protein, vitamins and a good sleep schedule. I'm hoping it will help. We have to remember we went through a MAJOR surgery.

    Sour/vinegar cravings

I've been craving Claussen dill pickles and green olives. I think it's the salt, so maybe different than your post!

  23. I like using the app called Hydro Coach. You can set reminders and also set goals and time frames for you to drink the water. I use it on my android phone.

    "Oh I've only lost..."

    Great posts!!
  25. Important to consider with such a wide range of vitamins available. Outside of bariatric specific vits I usually look for the USP symbol.
