    Help me please...I'm so down.

@@gtrigona1, You've had a great loss for being around 8 weeks, IMO. Are you getting all of your protein and fluids in? I know that my loss has slowed as I've started working out at the gym again. I think it's normal to feel down when we've had such great success the first 8 weeks and now it's stalling or slowing. Can you contact your RD? They might have ideas, or say it's normal... Good luck and know that you're not alone with what you're feeling!

    Walking Post Op

Don't be discouraged! I remember going shopping and thinking wow, I need a cart to put my purse in. Just keep reminding yourself that you went through a major surgery and that your body is trying to rest, heal and figure out what is going on. I think finally after 6 weeks I'm feeling more normal energy wise, so some of it can last for a while! Sounds like you are doing great.

How Do You Make Your Meal Plan More Interesting?

Great topic. Can't wait for others to share. I fall into the category of making somewhat repetitive meals, but this site is always a great resource to expand what I make!

    Post Op Care Question

I went home alone after RNY after spending 2 nights in the hospital. I was able to get around fine, and did try to have my shakes and vitamins/meds all ready to go on the kitchen table. I think the hardest was trying to fit everything in (water mostly), when I was sleepy. I didn't have complications and had a routine surgical experience, so I think it may depend on the person. Good luck!!

    Eggs no bueno

I agree that it's about the prep! Omlette was a no go (just tried egg and cheese), but over easy are ok for me! Also, if they are dried out forget it.

    PB2

I'll be awaiting answers too! I have some, but have only added 1 T to my chocolate protein shake.

    Water enhancers

I agree with the above posts! I have RTD Powerade Zero on hand for grab-b-go. Otherwise I have a nice stash of crystal light at work. My personal favorites are grape, lemonade and fruit punch. I also have used Mio's. The dollar tree in my area usually has some options too. I think I've seen the Crush flavors mentioned above.

How Do You Track Your Food?

MyFitnessPal is what I use too. I've been using it for over 4 years. Syncs with Fitbit. Other apps I've had issues with not finding foods and then I'd have to add them.

    Unprepared

Good post! I was in this predicament the other day about 5 weeks out. I had been so thoughtful about planning and then for one day I got too busy at work and didn't eat much. It hasn't happened again, but it was a good wake up call!

How do you puree your food?

I already had a nutribullet and that worked for pureeing chicken!

Should I tell my pcp about my surgery ?

I thinking telling is a MUST! You need someone in your corner when you have concerns. I would be afraid of not having my surgery documented in my EMR. Are you worried about telling because it's Mexico or because it's WLS? I can understand the struggle, but I wouldn't want to risk my life potentially.
  16. Wowza. I'm down 30.4 from date of surgery and people at work are making positive comments (they aren't in the loop on the surgery). ;) Feels good!!

hit like a ton of bricks...DENIED!

@@Anxious2beme - So Sorry you have to go through this. It is very hard to imagine doing pre-op work and then getting denied. I hope it was due to an easily fixable loophole.

    Incision Pain

@@portiv I'm going to be 6 weeks Thursday! I'll let you know what I found out on Monday. Of course, you should be in contact with your team too if it's bothersome for you!!

    Incision Pain

@@portiv, I have pain in the left incision that was the largest. Sometimes when I sneeze or get in/out of bed it hurts. I'm planning on asking about it at my appointment next Monday. I imagine it's to be expected. I have to remind myself this was major surgery after all! Part of me is just anxious that something else could be wrong.

    Fish - Dumping

I've "frothed" on canned tuna, and today, I tried baked tilapia. Today's episode was much worse. I have to vomit/spit up the frothy phelgm almost 5 times. I didn't eat fast, so I'm thinking it must have been the texture. I made sure to chew at least 30 times. I guess I must have pushed it a bit. I'm 6 weeks out on Thursday. My team has me on pureed until 4-6 weeks.
