Delay of Menstruation After Surgery
valkyrie88 replied to msuero's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thank you for this thread. I'm one month out and haven't had a period yet, just spotting, which looked like old blood (sorry if that's tmi) . I was starting to get worried but it's comforting to know others are going through this . -
The same thing happened to me! But I'm now a month out and still haven't gotten one. Just spotting
-
Hahahaha I'm 216.6 ! I weighed myself every day but now I'm going to force myself to weigh once a month. I've heard because we don't have tons to lose it may take a bit Slower than others . Good luck with your follow up! ☺️
-
Omg ours are super similar I was 249 signing up Then 228 day of surgery And now I'm 216 So cool! I'm three weeks out of surgery .
-
u look awesome Grl! Thanks so much ! ☺️

I had gastric bypass on 3/5/2015 My starting weight was 249, day of surgery my weight was 228, then three weeks after surgery I landed at 216. It's going to be a bit of a slow process but I am so darn proud to be where I'm at today. Greater things to come, just have to be patient ????

It truly does get better though ! It was super rough , I didn't get much protein in but I baby sipped water like crazy, and am completely turned Off from crystal light lol -
You will! I remember after my surgery I was in such TERRIBLE pain for about 5 days and then before I knew it , the pain started to ease up greatly. I never thought it would but it did . Hang in there! It will get better !

I had gastric bypass on 3/5/2015 my starting weight was 249, day of surgery I was 228, and 3 weeks after surgery I'm 216. It's a slow process but I'm finally seeing results and can't wait to start working out next week (more so walking) because I need my energy back! -
I feel the same way. So encouraging to read these comments

Why can someone who is diabetic have sugar after surgery and not get dumping syndrome? They make them do half juice half water I read that in my packet lol The water dilutes it greatly though.
-
Lol yeah I just cramped, no harm. However I didn't do a giant gulp but I just took a bigger sip then a baby sip lol. I had my surgery March 5, and I'm feeling so much better already. I had such a tough recovery but in a week I was fine

All the time lol I would just walk off the cramps . I couldn't help it, I was so thirsty. But then i started doing tiny sips constantly and it got easier
-
You just have to baby sip, that's the only way to get through it, before baby sipping I would just take bigger sips and deal with the cramps Because I was so thirsty but then I just did tiny sips all the time and eventually It just got easier . The first week sucks so bad
-
Sorry I didn't see the sleeve part, I'm not sure if it's difficult to drink with the sleeve but it is a little difficult with the bypass in the beginning
-
With gastric bypass, your stomach goes to being extremely small, so too much liquid at once wouldnt go down so smoothly, everything is kind of in a healing process , so after a week or two it gets easier to swallow. You also should be sipping On liquids all day long (baby sips) if you don't continue to sip then you will become dehydrated. Once you start to feel better things fall into place
-
Oh then that's perfectly fine:) just keep in mind, u will be able to drink more than that soon. Your doctor will say the same at your follow up. Good luck you can do it!
-
It would have to be sugar free , unless your diabetic . If I drink anything with sugar i could get dumping syndrome. I've only been wanting ice cold water though, although I'm missing diet Pepsi like crazy ????

Also, the Pepcid really helps. Did they give you that? The hiccups are probably from all the stored gas
