I have been fortunate enough to be able to attend all of the symposiums. I really enjoyed the 2008 one and thought for sure there was no way that the 2009 could be better. Well I was wrong. That too was equally informative. But this year, it was as I always say “the best of the best”. The Dr’s were their usual selves. Their presentations were very helpful for newbie’s but also helped us old ones out as well. I found Rose Riesman very good. But Jessie Ahroni I thought was great. Being banded herself she told it like it is. Her presentation was informative as well as very humorous. If she is in the area again I will certainly go to hear her again. Dr Cobourn and the SWLC team did it once again.

From consultation to surgery, time line?
Great North replied to noelleWannamaker's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had my surgery at the Surgical Weight Loss Centre in Mississauga ON. The clinic Dr’s and staff are awesome. Like Doddie said a lot depends on how long you will need to be on the pre op diet. In many cases I have read on the clinics message board people have been banded as little as two to 3 weeks after their consultations. There are 3 Dr’s at the clinic so the wait is shorter than most clinics. Check out as many clinics as possible and make sure that you are comfortable with the surgeon and staff. Also check out their web sites and read what the patients have to say about the support and after care that is provided. I have never regretted going to Dr Cobourn at the SWLC. It was the best decision I ever made. Good luck and let us know when you are getting banded. -
Any good experiences at Surgical Weight Loss Centre
Great North replied to cowpoke lucy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Dr. C is the best of the best. You are in good hands. I was banded by him and have never regreted it. You will find that the clinic staff will be there for you every step of the way. The SWLC also has a very active web site of thier own. Good luck
